My truck XLT AWD, 4K tow. I tried to avoid it when I was looking but no choice. Really wanted FWD only. Noe learning Ford gonna do new XLT FWD. And a plus is better injection system than what I have now, the DI stuff. However I own the truck now, not the bank. So prob keep it. Not driven much...
Iām not surprised of this BStone report. Why? Your viscosity is low. And BStone hinted of shearing. No fuel in the oil. And flash point. They seem to indicate typical for this engine.
And that of full synthetic oils!
When i go to dealer for service, I ask service writers āAre your techs certified. š
On couple of occasions, after vehicles serviced, spotted some error.

This engine reported has head/block gasket issues, where coolant leaks causing misfires. So far coolant level ok. She can roll.
Truck will be 3 yo in October, and currently 99,xxx miles. Not driven Much. So prob could see 20-25k in next 3 years? And intake valves may live ok.
Truck always garaged, meticulously maintained, oil change at 5k with full synthetic. I own itā¦not the bank. So Iām gonna let it roll.
I used Motorcraft blend and full syn. I would use blend oil, but oil sample analysis reveals low viscosity. Does not meet the oils viscosity ranges, specifications . After some reviews, decided to try Quaker State brand. Its full syn viscosity range slightly higher than the MC varietyās. But...
Read the Ford Protect warranty again. Buy it and it starts the day you brought the truck, not time you purchase it. Not getting 11 years. Itās 8 yrs, inclusive of factory original warranty. As I see it an owner is getting 5 yrs worth of Ford Protect plan.
