I recently bought a 2025 Maverick with a broken windshield. It was chipped during transit, and when they attempted a repair, the top of the glass cracked. I was told a replacement would be ordered and would be installed (free of charge, of course) as soon as it arrived. However, they warned it could take a while because they're having trouble finding the right replacement. No big deal, I thought. I can live with the minor blemish for a while.

A couple of weeks later, I get the call. The windshield is in. The dealership picks up my truck and removes the old windshield, but then there's a problem: They ordered the wrong part. Now, my truck is just sitting at the dealership with its front end exposed and no glass. Meanwhile, I’m stuck driving a loaner F-150, which is way too big for me, doesn’t fit in the parking garage at work, and burns through gas like it's going out of style.

It’s been a few days and they still haven't been able to find a replacement windshield, let alone place an order for one. I have no idea how long this is going to take, and it's just a really frustrating situation.

I don't really have a point here. I just needed to vent.

See if they will order the Acoustic windshield that comes in the Lariat. Costs a little more, but you would get a windshield - and one that's ever so slightly quieter on the highway.

In fact, make sure that's not what they ordered in error. If so, it will fit.

Good call. I'll ask to be sure and let them know that I'd be willing to splurge if it means finding a part sooner than later.

No disagreement here. I'd be surprised if they actually did charge me for the difference, but at this point I just want my truck back.

It's not just sooner, the acoustic windshield will make a difference in interior wind noise. The engine sounds still manage to get in though.

I have a '25 Maverick LOBO. Does this have the "acoustic windshield"? There is a part number at the lower drivers side of the windshield.
What makes the acoustic

Here are some pictures of Ford acoustical windshield labeling.

This top one is from a Maverick.

The only concern I would have is make sure there have not been any changes to the camera(s) and sensors behind the rearview mirror (I don't think there have been any changes through the model years).

I ran into a windshield supply problem with my Saturn Vue a few years ago and like you the first one they found ended up being the wrong one. The problem was the frit pattern was different and would have obstructed my auto wiper sensor requiring it to be disabled. Seems GM made a change only 6 months into production (first year of production - MY2008) and therefore the windscreen for my Vue was harder to find 15 years after production.

After dealing with all the major companies, I ended up having the go to a mom & pop glass company known for finding glass for rare and vintage vehicles and they came through!

OP, it sounds quite a bit like your dealership is incompetent.

Granted, I'm not in Canada, but I've had 2 windshield replacements and got both of them within a few days, and amazingly enough the right parts the first try.

Hopefully your dealer can find one soon. I just had a replacement a little over a month ago (which ironically, just got majorly chipped on my drive up north an hour ago... 😡) and the brand was Fuyao. Is your dealer only looking for Ford/Carlite windshields?

Man, that really sucks. We've had that happen on a Jeep we had. Brand new glass took a rock within a week of having it changed.

In answer to your question, I'm assuming they're only looking at original parts given they're a dealership and the truck is brand new, but I honestly don't know.

Oh yeah, super frustrating! But that makes sense on the dealer only going with Ford parts. Fingers-crossed they can find one for you soon!

The dealership is trying to get you to really like the 150 so you will trade in your new mav for it. DO NOT DO IT, keep the MAVERICK
