Bought my Maverick two weeks ago after a long search process. Missed the 2022 order deadline, as most people did. Waited too long to pull the trigger on a 2023 and was about to go in to order a 2024 when I decided to do a 300 mile search online to see if I could find something available.

Found a dealer in Illinois that had 7 in stock, 5 hybrids, and they were adding $10K market adjustments calling it a "paint protective add on". I moved on. Found similar situation with dealers in Iowa and Missouri. Found only a few new Maverick's in Wisconsin, the market adjustment was $4k - $5K on those. Then, at the last minute, I found about an hour from my house that was only asking full MSRP. Yeah, I bought that. It was way more truck than I wanted...XLT with Luxury Package, Black Appearance Package, CoPilot 360, Moonroof, added Tonneau and spray in bedliner - came in at $32,150. When I look at my build notes for the 2024, without the Luxury and Black App Package & Moonroof but adding tow hitch, Tonneau, spray in bedliner, block heater, weather floor liners I came up with about the same price as this 2023. Easy decision.

I too think these ridiculous ADM's will begin to thin out soon if interest rates stay higher. We're likely looking at some type of recession event in the next 18-24 months which would further impact auto prices overall. But, if Ford keeps production of these little gems low, prices will likely remain stronger than their larger counterparts if for no other reason than the gas mileage and maintenance costs.

I guess we'll see.
Sounds like a pretty nice deal. I took tried to order in late 22 for a 23, and then again in June for a 24... both times they took an order but I never received anything from Ford, I even placed an order with a dealer about 3-4 weeks ago in hopes (they said 90 days till I received.... I knew better but thought it was worth a try) of getting one but still never received anything from Ford. Another case of dealers making it harder and harder to like Ford.

Anyway I managed to find one for about a $1800 mark up....and since I needed to have something by December I went ahead and pulled the trigger. It should be delivered soon. Found Plenty if I wanted to pay 5-10K mark up, and found several at 2500. I expect MSRP by February, but I couldn't wait

It has to be over, because the salesman where I bought my Maverick keeps calling me to see if I want to upgrade to a 2023 "for only a bit more than what you're paying monthly now." Yeah right. I'm not financing a vehicle at 7% unless I plan on living in a van down by the river. It's a car payment, not a mortgage. 7% is an insulting rate for anyone who has excellent credit. Not doing it.

We have dealers with a few in stock. They do not say special order on the sticker.

Two weeks ago I looked at dealer inventory around me on line. Found one that had been shipped and was expected in a couple of weeks with the color/options I wanted. Drove there the next day and it came in an hour after I bought it at MSRP. Picked it up the next day. Almost every dealer around me had hybrids and 2.0s on the lot or in transit. I was looking for the XLT w/4K tow package. I had maybe six to choose from near me. Drove past my local dealer last week and he had at lest seven Mavericks lined up out front. Back in 2021 I had to wait three weeks for my Bronco Sport that had already been shipped when I bought it. So glad I didn't place a Maverick order months ago. I'd probably still be waiting.

Evidently Ford's rate for top tier credit is over 9% right now

This is a dealer in Kent, Wa with almost 40 new and used Maverick in stock!! This is a reputable dealer and will not add markup on personal order. Dealer stock I’ve seen an ADM from them between 5k to 10k during the shortage.

My local dealer has 5 blue window sticker Mavs on the lot. 4 hybrids. They have been there for about a month. I received an email from the sales person I spoke to back in 2022 saying he had some Mavs. I asked, "at MSRP"? He replied " come in, we will discuss your options" :)
I know they are asking over sticker but I don't know how much. I picked up my 23 XLT hybrid 3/6/23 after 509 days, 22 to 23 roll over. Dealer was good, no surprises at delivery, $2750 private transition so it was worth the wait.

I understand why they want you to come in, but that tactic kills me.... be upfront and say 'we are asking for a $5K mark up' or whatever the number is. If they wouldn't give me a firm number to start with then I'm not wasting my time

Ford can suck it.

I'm showing 7% on their website to build a "ghost" Maverick or Ranger, but 7% or 9% is too damn high for any sane person.

For any new car I've purchased since 1998, the highest rate I've ever paid (with cruddy credit back then) was 3%.

Not sure looks like they are trying to force hybrid. Those are the only ones I ever see at lots. Maybe regional differences as hybrid may be more coastal and ecoboost are more midwestern
Not in my Area. Dealers can only order Ecoboosts for stock. My closest dealer has 14 Eco's ready to go, and one 2024 Hybrid in transit.

Completely, agree with this. Then they get all pissed when the deal doesn’t work out. When in first place they could be upfront and no one’s time is wasted.

Even the popular Long McArthur tried to get me. We negotiated $500 over MSRP and $150 window tint with sales guy and finance guy also got the word then the contract gets emailed for $2000 over msrp and $270 window etch. During negotiations tell me you can’t do it after all don’t have two people agree and then send worse terms for buyer. 🤦🏻‍♂️

My local Ford dealer, with over 500 new vehicles in stock, does not have any Mavericks. Every new Maverick they have ordered has been special order. Definitely a shortage of Mavs in my area.
