My one pet peeve is people calling the Maverick a "trucklet" !...
I hate that phrase, too. Americans have been taught to think anything smaller than the current F-150 is small. The Maverick is a mid-sized truck that's larger than some older F-150, F-100 full-sized trucks.
ChevyS-10s, Chevy LUV, old Ford Rangers, Mazda B-2000, Isuzu pickup trucks were "small."

MY2025, how about some lights down by the center console/charging pad? Can't see SH!T
Lariat ambient lighting has that. center console cubby area, both footwells, front doorhandle pockets. You can adjust the brightness also. (Minor peeve; I've never toggled mine 'off' but several times I've noticed they are off and then have to go back into the menus to turn the brightness up from zero/off.)

My one pet peeve with the Maverick must be the Maverick owners who complain mightily over the most inconsequential things. May as well just throw a tantrum about a lack of refrigerated Grey Poupon storage in the back seat.

Yes! That is number three for me number two is the dash control LED's that reflect in the rear view mirror! I may have figured out an angle to have it but it doesn't come easy! LOL I am still working on number one... probably the weird way that the packages leave out little things like Adaptive cruise control etc

Pet peeve: no audio cue for someone in your blind spot. Only a flashing indicator light. In your mirror. Which you aren't necessarily looking at, you might be looking over a shoulder instead. There isn't even a dash alert. If someone's in your blind spot when you're trying to move over (into the someone) the car should be screaming at you.

Leave an option to turn it off maybe, but right now we don't even have an option to turn it on.

I guess my pet peeve would be the extremely cheap interior materials. I have 22k miles on my 23 XLT hybrid and it has a myriad of interior rattles. The dash, speaker covers, dash end caps, front passenger door card and the sunglasses holder all rattle. I had a 2010 Kia Forte Koup that had 160k miles on it (and I was like the 4th owner) that had zero interior rattles. The Maverick interior also scratches extremely easily. The dash gets sticky from the sun and dust collects on it.

Bonus pet peeve:
The horrible bastardized SYNC version that Ford saddled with everything but the Lariat trim. It's slow, laggy, buggy as hell and has a user interface that makes a mid-2000s Brother printer look amazing. I have added a SiriusXM tuner kit through the USB and the radio will just forget it exists. I have to perform a manual soft reset, that is if the ACM doesn't freeze up and randomly reset, which happens about once a week. The second someone comes out with a kit to replace the factory system, the stock components are getting thrown in the trash. I had a 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage as a rental when the Maverick was in the body shop getting hail damage repaired. The radio screen was bigger, quicker, and had a much better quality backup camera. And this was on an $18k car from a third tier manufacturer.

That’s too good options that you show in the links provided but what I found is I ordered just the LED light in your second link and “facing out” it’s too bright. It shines right in your eyes. It needs to point down to light up the area, not out and in your face. 🥴🥴
Yeah Ken you are correct. I tried to find the link to the one I bought last year, but couldn't. It was a smaller one that was not as bright and faced downward only. Driving on a dark night it does not bother me at all, just shines down on the flat area of console. I'm sure there are other choices on Amazon.

I have had my 2024 close to a year now. It is an XLT with luxury and black package. I really like and enjoy the truck. But as with most vehicles there always seems to be one item that bugs the heck out of you.
My one item: I can't believe Ford didn't put power windows with one-touch up. Ughh! Every time I go to a drive-through I curse that I have to hold the button while driving off. My 2013 CRV had one touch up and down. That is my one gripe.

What is your one pet peeve about the truck that you would change if possible? Just mention one please. :)

Not having push button start on ALL trims like there is in 2025. No reason why Ford couldn't have done that on all other years.

wrong - XLT has push to start now in MY25, but XL still does not.

it's cost. don't forget, a massive amount of fleet vehicles are XL.

I don't think even an F-150 XL has push to start. the 2023 that I had as a service loaner a while back used a regular key ignition.

I'm pretty annoyed with the infotainment setup also!
The most mind-blowing thing about it is that it's guaranteed just a matter of software that needs a bit of fixing. Something that would take a handful of nerds a few days/weeks and cost nothing in Ford's budget. But it's been four years, zero updates and tens of thousands of complaints since the Maverick came out and, crickets.

My pet peeve is that during cold weather the dome light only comes on if I have been driving a lot. The battery doesn’t charge enough apparently for the extras to work. I have to use the flashlight on my phone to see everything in the truck. If I were a woman getting into the truck in a dark area I would be having a fit over this.

My only concern is when I am backing up the dashboard screen shows a silver truck image on the top right side. That image blocks out the view of any vehicle or object in that area.
why !!

My only gripe with Little Britches is that my wife has completely taken over driving it! I was under the impression she didn’t even like trucks—guess I was wrong!
