Just hit 24k miles in my 2023 XLT hybrid.
Performed the 3rd oil change today.
It was the first time changing the oil after I installed the Rival skid plate. Learned some things haha.
Also installed the ValvoMax drain valve. It should make future oil changes less messy...
I forgot to mention that I also installed a ValvoMax drain valve which should make draining the oil mess free. I probably could have removed the oil filter without issue with the skid plate in place but I already decided to just drop it.

That last paragraph was definitely foreshadowing.
I changed the oil in my '23 hybrid for the first time after installing the skid plate. I thought I'd just pull the access panels because that's what they are for, right?
Welllllllll that didn't work out very well. The initial oil stream drains...
I also had the LasFit LED bulbs installed in the tail lights fail. Mine were the old style that were extremely bright. One on each side failed about 8 months after I installed them. I noticed about 2 weeks before I was going to move across the country. I didn't have time to mess with warranty...
I bought my bare bones XLT hybrid Maverick because spending $40k for a midsize pickup is grotesque. Some of my younger coworkers have $70k-$80k full size trucks with $1k-$1.3k truck payments.
I can't wrap my head around that. My '23 XLT hybrid was $27k and some change out the door. It does...
This has happened to me a few times too.
Place foot on brake pedal, start truck, go to shift into reverse but I can't get the shifter to move. Each time it has happened, I've had to turn the truck off, remove the key and restart the truck to clear the issue.
Weird 🤷♂️
I'm pretty sure it's not a bulb issue:

My 2023 does this occasionally. I have yet to have the fix action performed.
If you're like me, you'll buy a crap ton of stuff, stick it in the garage and forget about it.
Until months later, then it's like a second Christmas!
First thing I bought: Lasfit LED reverse bulbs
Second thing I bought: Gloss black tailgate letters
Third thing I bought: Start-X remote start
I had a 1990 Ranger XLT in the early 2000s. It was a 2WD, single cab 5 speed long bed with the 2.3L. I bought it from someone I knew on a forum a long time ago. His dad used it for his general contractor business. If I recall correctly, it had about 120k on it. I paid a whopping $600 for it The...
I didn't care for it either and turned it off the first week I got my truck. It's very jerky.
Didn't need it in central Florida (flat) and don't need it now in eastern New Mexico (flat).
The GF accidentally turned it on once when she was driving my Maverick. She thought she had broken...
That bottom review is mine. Maybe I was a little harsh but I was angry that I destroyed the factory grommets by removing them and then the cheap Amazon replacements didn't capture the pins on the tail light assembly at all. It actually made it worse.
After owning my '23 hybrid for only a few...
Would I buy a hybrid again? Absolutely!
Would I buy a Ford hybrid again? Probably not.
The drivetrain is a peach. Its everything else that drags it down.
It's like a cupcake with a cat turd on top.
Access to the filter and drain plug is pretty good. Oil might get on the skid plate while draining but I'm going to install a ValvoMax oil drain valve with the hose so it's easier.
MTC also convinced me to purchase a Stahlbus drain valve. I have yet to install it haha
The Rival skid plate install isn't difficult. I would call it "fiddly" though. Lots of small adjustments to get the backing nuts, skid plate and hardware to line up. Be careful to not over torque the bolts...
You could also look into buying from a forum sponsor:

@Mitch Panda Motorworks could probably get you a better than advertised price
That's a pretty nifty concept. But what if you need to lift 2 or 4 points? I only have one hydraulic floor jack.
I've been meaning to get a pair of these:
Powerbuilt 2 Ton UniJack
