No Link, No Price, No Deal.🙄

csp racing appears to be a marketing outlet that sells other people's products.

Perhaps the OP would be kind enough to provide us with the link he used to purchase his hood insulation pad

Would love to see (hear?) some sound level measurements before/after.

My hybrid does make some economy-car noise when the ICE is engaged but I knew that from test drives before I bought so I wasn't expecting Lexus-tier quiet.

Would this be the sound heard outside of the cab? I dont see how this would affect the sound in cab.

Color me weird, but I like to hear all I can from under the hood when I'm in the driver's seat -particularly in this hybrid. Like to be aware when ICE kicks on/off on residential streets, and the comfortable hum/growl at cruising speed on the highway, same as telling me 'all is well'. It doesn't seem like a particularly noisy or annoying powertrain compared to other vehicles I've driven. Perhaps I'll change my mind after a few longer trips.

There are at least a few paths for the noise to reach you. Noise that is heard outside of the cab can obviously be transmitted back into the cab, just like any noise outside.

iThe pad will insulate noise from leaving the engine compartment. But It's also likely that the Hood could vibrate at times such that it will create some level of noise due to that vibration resonance of the sheet metal. The mass of the pad will change that vibration frequency to reduce that noise source, like any mass damper.

Ford may have met the noise target for the vehicle during development, just like any attribute target, and may decide it isn't worth more cost to further reduce noise, based on competition, etc. But the owner can always elect to add more cost if desired.
