BTW In Minnesota hood & roof are supposed to be cleared before driving. Hood for you, roof for everyone behind you.
Yep, I know. Roof was completely cleared as well as other areas of the truck such as the back bumper and anywhere else there was snow piled up so that nothing flies off of it. The hood was mostly cleared except small patch on the left side. There was just a little bit left.

So the main reason I did this was for the hood shake

Well bought some 100 mil Kilmat sound insulation for under the hood

Took 10 sheets and about a hour to do.
Thanks for the post and the photos in particular

Did you apply the butyl to the underside of the outer layer of hood? If so, how much were you able to squeeze inside the holes?

We can only see the bottom layer, which makes sense would help with sound. Guessing it would have to be a pretty light hood for a layer accross the bottom to reduce flutter in the outer layer of the hood skin.

How is the Kilmat holding up being right above the engine?

I would also like to know how well this has held up?
