Car hood insulation pad - any drawbacks?

My Buick Regal GS had a heat shield attached to the hood that was directly over the turbo.

The GNs had the shield bolted directly to the top-mounted blower as I call. The GS was different? Turbochargers get HOT.

I may consider some 3/8-1/2 inch Styrofoam? Cut to fit where one wants it. Little dabs of heat resistant glue.

Yep. The underside of cabover trucks and doghouse/firewall tunnel of full-size vans. And somehow they don't cook themselves.

This engine bay has lot of open space for air movement. Wait for summer to see how hot the engine gets, when the truck is just seating in sun with engine off, compare it to other car you may have with insulated hood. My guess is, it's probably not needed for heat, unless you have a dark color. But, It might help in cold region to keep the engine warmer for a longer time, if you are doing lot of short drives. Like food deliveries. Either way I would wait with such mods. If Ford adds it in next year production, then I would add it.

Thanks for honest answer. I was more concerned about functionally. I am not going to drive around with my hood up.
