Dome lights have never hinted any problems in my case. Extreme difficulty starting was the first noticeable symptom. Perhaps if I was always remote starting with the app I would've noticed earlier.
In hindsight, would move up in trim from XL, probably to XLT.
When I was in the market, the thought occurred to me, "why should I pay Ford to mod my truck for me when I could do it myself?" With time, I have some answers:
-hard to find the time and lack the expertise for some mods. I should...
Sadly familiar, but no such messages with 12V #4. First sign of trouble was a failure to 'crank' one morning, with a Christmas tree dash of idiot lights incl. CEL and throwing code generic code U3012, accompanied by the first of many 'Service Engine Soon' messages on the app. A really rude...
My apologies for the late reply. From what I can tell, so far, so good; no discernible symptoms without special monitoring tools, which I don't have. Part of me had hoped for a quick failure and another 12V warranty replacement, but that would a a roll of the dice. I also wanted to see how...
Thanks again David. I believe! But begging your patience, what is the likely significance on the rare drive where the cig monitor responds dramatically to the tricks of the lights/fan speed, as opposed to my typical drive where it reads a steady 14.x no matter what?
P.S. the AGM I currently...
Glad to hear all the confident replies about how reliable HVB and the rest of the hybrid parts are for the long term. I presume you know what you're talking about, because I haven't the smarts to dispute it.
Makes me wonder though, why my ESP through Granger would not give additional coverage...
Thanks for the lengthy reply. Well, now things are different -or perhaps they aren't...
...just yesterday I was coming back from a 140mi highway drive, pulled off to run a quick errand, and upon restarting my cig monitor showed the obvious behavior where headlights, parking lights, and hi...
If we're talking about cig monitor voltage while driving, no I haven't seen noticeable change. Played around with headlights and fan speed to no effect. Next will try parking lights. On repeated starts what I noticed was starting acc voltage before 'cranking' was higher than normal each time...
Appreciate the thought Andy. Just with normal use where they stay on a few seconds after lock/unlock, door opening... already the cheap plated plastic reflectors are melting like some have reported -you mean the actual outer clear plastic cover is melting when people intentionally have them...
I'd like to join the chorus thanking you for your sleuthing. Be it the placebo effect or something real, running brief early-morning errands and then a short commute with headlights on the whole time I immediately noticed a difference in my cig-lighter USB voltmeter. Time will tell.
Have you...
(was away for a bit)
Yes, if the 'reflectors' are merely little stickers that's hardly a consideration. However, I'd like actual reflectors, i.e. faceted hard plastic securely attached. Yes, it sort of is the Chevy Colorado look. Admittedly it's 50% vanity -but it's 50% practicality and...
Can't decide whether I live in the Shire or Mordor, but in the historical record here we can freeze any day between Labor Day and 4th of July. Typically it's from around 9/25 to 6/15.
Color me weird, but I like to hear all I can from under the hood when I'm in the driver's seat -particularly in this hybrid. Like to be aware when ICE kicks on/off on residential streets, and the comfortable hum/growl at cruising speed on the highway, same as telling me 'all is well'. It...
