As i posted before on my built page i did not seem to find any real differences between the engine block between the 2.3 and the 2.0 . other than the crank rods and pistons.

i might waste my money on this but i think its worth trying. Anyone thinking of doing the same i can post stuff of the specs here later on when i get all the information write up.

heres some example i got to buy a crankshaft for 2.3 Ford Explorer and as you can see it says it will fit the following vehicles.

the only fear i would had if one of the counter weight might might hit the block area but i guess im going to have to take the risk. btw im trying to make a stoker kit lol .

Is it still true people prefer to build the 2.0 over the 2.3, because the open deck on the 2.3 eats head gaskets? I haven't been following Ford's ecoboost stuff as much as I used too, but I figure building a 2.0 is the better way to go from what I remember. I do understand you're wanting to use an actual 2.0 block, btw.

The head gasket issues were the head gasket itself, they were junk. You hardly ever see cracked 2.3 or 2.0 blocks. Some people will have Darton sleeves installed for high hp stuff. Mountune does darton sleeves but they are pushing almost 700 hp. Every ecoboost mustang i know that has done head studs and aftermarket head gasket are pushing 400+

I seen some cracked blocks on the 2.0 and 2.3 its mostly between 2 and 3 cylinder

Personally,I think it would be a waste of time,effort and money to achieve little,and maybe lose driveability and warranty. But,I've done some wasteful things in my life sooo. Good luck!

do you have a tune and if so which are you using?

I think it might run with the swap but I'm pretty confident it will need a new tune. are you keeping everything else stock for now just swapping the short block?
