Let’s see what a 2.3 with this little turbo can do. The plan it to have in tuned and on the rollers on the 28th this month.

How exciting! What vehicle did you pull it out of?
I love the 2.3EB in my 2018 Focus RS. It's full bolt-ons and a Cobb AP running a custom map from JSTuned. An absolute blast on the street and on road courses. Considered doing a full engine build, bigger turbo, Syvecs, and transmission upgrades but been very hesitant since it's a 2018 and they only released a 1000 of them. Hell, I still get offers for over what I paid for it new lol.

I tell ya if Ford had a crate motor and manual transmission combo for the 2.3 in rwd, I think alot of people would be doing motor swaps with em in hotrods and such. They are powerful efficient little motors. Imagine dropping a 350hp crate motor in a old Ranger, Fox, or Panther platform. Or even a old Maverick or Pinto. And get +20mpg. It will be cool to see what you get out of it!

Excuse my ignorance. But does .3L make it worth taking an engine out and replacing it with a new one?

Surely you know what you are doing, but the 2.3 is an older version of the 2.5L found in the Hybrid, right? (Mazda L based) There are all kinds of tuning differences.

The 2.3L into an "old" Ranger was already done by Ford.
The 2.3 is not old in this instance, its out of a Lincoln Corsair. 2.3 ecoboost awd. I found the same engine locally for 2300 with 1600 miles. Im closely watching this.
So
Modified version of the S&B Cold-Air Intake to fit the 2.3L?
Perhaps a modified version of your v2 Catted 3" downpipe to fit the 2.3L?
Your 26x8x4.25 Intercooler and Pipe kit?
The Stage4 Corsair 2.3L Turbo (57/61)?
And the 'spare' Corsair 2.3L Engine?
i think allot of people will be interested in seeing these 5 things come together in the Maverick.

I'm very interested to see how this comes out. So far im happy with my 5star tune on the Maverick 2.0. This 2.3 swap should be awesome. What do you think the weak link will be (transmission or awd)?
I guess the good news is that we will know in another 17 more days.. not just the engine but the other mods he's done to improve breathing/forced induction/fueling. It's something I'll never have the resources to do, but it's fascinating to see what a Maverick RS could be (I think this one is going more like an RS, than a ST). and of course this will be an evolving project that should only get better
If this motor is anything like the 2.3 in my wife's Bronco, it is gonna fly! This thing will jump off the line like nobody's business. Ford rated this lil motor for the Bronco at 300hp with 93 octane fuel, and I believe it. I would love to see them drop this setup in the ST Maverick!

Oh cool! I'm anxious to see the outcome for sure. Will be cool to see the difference in performance and fuel consumption.
I’m happy with the mileage and performance of my stock Maverick but damn this project will be bad ass. This should be a real rocket off the line. Can’t wait to hear it and see some dyno numbers.
