Tailgate Open Notification?

I slip a neon yellow zip tie under the protective cover on top edge of tailgate. Just stick it straight in (without any loop) so the "head" is visible in my rear view driver's side mirror. If I can't see the yellow zip tie, then I stop to make sure the tailgate is up.
Sometimes it needs adjusting to keep it visable, but it's a cheap, easy solution.

I'm cheating off @Edge Haley 's homework on this one. A split ring and label. What works for me (I HOPE) is keeping them at the point of use.

I believe the 24 and 25 model years you can access the camera well in motion.

Most pickup drivers have a use for an open tailgate, so it makes no sense to put switches in to check for that. The rear is normally jacked up a bit and tends to make things slide away from the rear every time you hit a bump. Also every time you hit the brakes things will slide to the front, not the back.

Me too. I had the bed loaded and practically dumped everything on the road at a traffic light about a mile from the house.

I used this that I stuck on the inside of the tailgate.

I then ran a cable to the inside and used an LED lamp that would light up when the tailgate is down.

Yep. On my 25 I can access the rear or side cameras while in motion. I don't recall being able to use the front one though, certainly for liability reasons.

*this is only on Lariats with the 360 degree cameras. It's accessed by pressing the camera button

PS going forward at low speed it'll show the front camera view, then above a certain speed it'll switch to the rear view
