Tailgate Assist

Hey guys and gals, If this has been previously post...oh well. I just bought the tailgate assist from my local Ford Dealer using my points from the purchase of the 24 Maverick Lariat. $60!!!
If you go to the DeeZee web page the same assist is less than $40, shipping extra of course, you might save a few bucks is you order direct.

Yep, there are a few third-party options, all less expensive than the Ford accessory. I bout the Mabett version myself; partly because they offered a bundle that included hood struts (currently $45 on Amazon after coupon).

If you want to replace the tailgate tie down that had to be removed to fit the strut, I've made a few that I'm selling.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.

Mine came with the bottle opener, not the tie downs.

Mine came with the bottle opener, not the tie downs.

The bottle opener is a tie down but interferes with the tailgate assist. Lane is saying he has replacement tiedowns that will replace the bottle opener that you will have to remove.
