Amazing the reaction to a well-known TSB: I may need to go through and check for other common stuff and post...

Unfortunately it's seems there are quite a few issues, minor to major, it's hard to mentally log each. Not sure what you're insinuating, I had an issue, I asked for help/others experience. If you don't have anything positive to contribute, you can move along elsewhere. Plenty of snark in the world chief, don't need yours on top of it.

In other news for those interested:

I did throw some shrink wrap on them. They definitely were noticeably more snug/slightly harder to push in. I bolted them down just enough that nothing was loose.

I'll keep an eye on it and let ya'll know of it still happens.

I'm having an issue on my passenger rear tail light. The front portion pops out and leaves this half inch gap. I can push it and pop it back in but it's a temporary solution and it'll eventually pop back out. When you take the tail light out, there are 2 posts that pop into a couple of grommets and then 2 bolts that bolt in, in the bed. I've tried tightening those bolts but that caused it to pop out even more from the additioinal tension of tightening the bolts.

Anyone else had this issue? Are the grommets worn out that those 2 posts sit in? Everything looks find when I look at them, but that's just as far as I can tell. I thought about taking off the other tail light to see how it is in there, but was was worried I may cause the same issue to start. I thought better of it. I wonder if you can buy replacement grommets if they are worn?

Anyone got an idea?

Thanks.

looks like plenty of replies to you but thought I would mention I had the same issue, I mentioned it when I took it in and dropped off for an oil change and they said it would be a several month wait because it was considered 'electrical'. Thankfully evidently someone looked at it before I picked it back up and it was intact and has not come out again.

Good deal. I have used that trick before. A lot of body work on sports bikes is post and grommet and the connection gets loose after a while and the parts vibrate. Easy fix.

I removed my tail lights to connect some wires and when I put them back the passenger side took a little pressure to push into place where the screws could go in, not much but it seemed a bit springy where before it sat flush, where the screws didn't pull it in when tightened. I noticed that as I tightened the screws it was pulling out slightly at the front edge where the two pins snap in and I could see where over time it might pop them out.

In the daylight I removed it again and looked to see what was stopping it from sitting flush and found that there is a pin at the top of the light fixture that goes into a slotted hole in a flimsy tab on the fender and it was missing the hole and pushing against the tab. Once I bent the tab back to its original location the pin on the light slots into the hole and the housing sits flush against the metal the screws go through and there's no force trying to pop the front edge out.

You can check this pin/tab/hole alignment without removing the taillight by looking into the small gap between the top of the light and the fender, looking in from the side using a flashlight.

Here are pictures showing the tab and pin I'm referring to. The pictures I found show the right side fender and a left side tail light, but you can get the idea.

Do not overtighten those two bolts. Just tight enough to keep it in place. Too tight and it will pop out on thar front side as you drive around.

This seems like the easiest/most cost effective route. Those retaining nut/grommets the pegs insert into are $17.85 a pack. So almost $40 to fix. Versus some 3M tape.
Instead of 3M tape I used some old garden hose rubber gaskets/washers (the ones you put between the hose and the spray attachment) and did not tighten the mounting bolts very tight. Been working for over a year. I have a 22 Maverick.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I used 3m tape on the washers to stick them on the body holes where the bolts go in the body. Kind of like a shim for the housing, so it doesn't have and odd angle when tightened.

I did not read this whole thread but I had this issue within the first couple thousand miles. As stated there is a TSB but I did my own fix and it’s work for almost 10k miles now. I will get ahold of my dealer who said they would fix. My solution is very simple. Remove the tail light and take the push pegs out and add a very small nylon washer or any very thin washer behind it and put it back in place and reinstall the tail light. This leaves a very very small gap which is almost unnoticeable but it fixed my issue. I was told Ford is aware but mine hasn’t came out since doing this.

Any updates?

Keeping bolts loose has worked so far for me, but I'd like to keep it a little tighter!

I found the grommet portions so far. Haven't found the pegs. Still looking.

White Grommet
Black Grommet

I'll let you know if I find the pegs.

Below is the reviews on the white pegs.

2 good, 1 terrible lol.

I may roll the dice.

That bottom review is mine. Maybe I was a little harsh but I was angry that I destroyed the factory grommets by removing them and then the cheap Amazon replacements didn't capture the pins on the tail light assembly at all. It actually made it worse.

After owning my '23 hybrid for only a few months, I kept noticing the driver's side light assembly would pop out. It got noticably worse after removing both sides to install Lasfit LED bulbs. Now both sides would pop out every time I drove it. No amount of fiddling or adjusting would keep the tail lights from popping out.

When I take my truck to the dealer to have all the recalls performed, I'm going to ask them about this TSB. I'm still within the warranty period so hopefully I can convince them to fix it and not charge me. If not, I'll just buy the parts and do it myself.
