Tail Light Popping Out

Yes, we have had this problem from day 1. Our passenger taillight keeps popping out. It’s almost as if the mold wasn’t made exactly right. We’ve taken everything apart and put back in place and still pops out. If anyone has a solution I would love to know

I went back to my dealer a few times where they kept loosening and retightening the screws that held the cover in. Eventually they agreed it was a problem and ordered larger grommets which seemed to have fixed the problem. It hasnt popped out in a month but its also been really cold here and I'm not sure if warm weather has an effect or not. But bigger grommets made the difference

Mine have been popping out on both sides of the truck numerous times. I have never touched the taillights. My local Ford dealer said the grommets were messed up from the factory. They ordered me two new taillights. The first set came in last week but were damaged, so waiting on the new set then installed under warranty. My neighbors maverick is popping out also. I guess its happening alot.

I am having the same issue. Keeps popping out after I put it back in. Will take it to the dealership. I also encourage everyone to complain to their dealership. The more complaints mean a recall could happen faster.

Try tightening the two screws just slightly tighter than hand-tight, this worked for me.

It's been over a year and mine hasn't popped out again.

I just took it off and put it back in, hopefully this would fix it.

I had to do that to one of mine. It was probably due to my poor reinstall after I took it off and hooked up diodes for the towing lights.
I took the screws out and pushed it back in, then reinstalled the screws, it has stayed in place.

Just came across this thread. I thought it was just me. Both my taillights pop out constantly. Thanks for the tips.

I was still having the issue with the Amazon clips, so I made my own. I'll put it through some additional testing but so far, so good. I'll add them to the shop sometime this week as a community design (low-cost).
