Mobile tech from D&D Motors showed up early and took about 35' to do the 2 updates.
He confirmed Ford had released the 24S27 on Friday. He hooked up the jumper cable before he started the updates, connecting his laptop to the OBD port thru his diagnostic device. He updated the PCM first, then the BCM, and he had to do another update to the PCM to clear all his codes, explaining that when the BCM changed it required an additional update for them to communicate properly. He seemed to know what he was doing and said that D&D had 3 mobile tech vehicles and did updates all over upstate SC and into NC.

Sounding like the recall on a recall will have another recall forthcoming
Christ, it's like a damn game of wack-a-mole. Yeah, I'm gonna hold off on the recalls for now. Not sure who else has this strategy, I don't want to ignore the recalls forever, that's gonna cause its own issues most likely. But I'm planning to wait about 6 months or so, make sure these recalls are rock solid, before I get them. Our truck has been flawless this far, don't want to screw it up.

I just want to give an update. Swapped all lights back to halogen and removed the light bar. Everything seems to work normal again.

Then I swapped all the LED stuff back on and it still working normal again. I need to see what happens in the daylight tomorrow if auto is working correctly again too but otherwise its fixed it seems.

Well, One last update. It looks like the changes have made LIghting with a lariat nothing but a hassle.

If I want to run LED's, it always going to have issues with bulbs possibly not working.

If I want to run a light bar, It has to be mainly powered from something other than the lights or the 4 pin if I dont want to have issues even running halogen bulbs.

I honestly hope something to make this work again because

So this started a week or so after the recall. I've noticed that the bottom bulb on my passenger side doesnt like to work depending on my light settings. If the light switch is set to off or on the auto settings, positions 1 and 3, only the top light works for blinkers and brakes. If its set to running lights or lights on, positions 2 and 4, all the lights work.

I'm still running LED bulbs so that might be part of it. I'll try to swap them back out to the halogen ones and update the post of the results later on.
I put Lasfit LED bulbs and after the BCM update a couple of months ago i was getting hyper flash, on the cluster but the exterior lights were flashing normally. One of the rear bulbs failed so I ordered the updated/improved rear LEDs and I will get a couple of clicks of hyper flash and it goes to normal.
Pretty sure, part of the update involved changing the values in the resistance and new bulbs are updated for it.
I still need to do the front switchbacks LEDs and I feel that is where I am getting the intermittent hyper flash from

I still have the old version of the LED's from lasfit. I disabled the hyperflash warning on forscan. My issue is that not all LED's will be on outside the truck. Its definitely an LED issue as setting everything back to normal made it stop. The light will even turn on based on which switch setting I use so its not burnt out.

When I redo my bed lighting later on, I'll try to rewire some stuff but I dont expect the LED's to always work properly anymore.

Oh, I don’t have Forscan but after replacing the rears because one light failed; the other side, some of the diodes were flickering.
I just have that intermittent hyper flash warning on the cluster.
I might just order the new front switchbacks and see if it clears up that small issue

Should be noted that the lariat trim will have issues that the xlt/xl doesnt incase you have those.
