Update:

Dealer just contacted and the tech called Ford, FMC is recommending windshield removal for further inspection....maybe we are getting somewhere.
Don’t know if it’s the windshield or the hard plastic top of the dash bumping against windshield. If I was younger I’d pull top of dash and take a sander to that hard plastic and sand it back an 1/8” -1/4”. I’d almost bet that would fix all that noise.

Update: Windshield was removed, inspected, and re-installed....still "clicking" at slow and high speeds. Plastics have been inspected as well.

However, seems I have a technician dedicated to resolving, and while it means I am still without my baby, at least the dealership is not giving up.

When I first heard the noise in my dash it sounded like a wiring harness connector tapping against the back of the instrument cluster. I’ve not had it checked, it comes and goes. Today it was really annoying.

Did they get rid of the alignment pucks?

No, however, I did follow up with the tech regarding that as a possible source of the issue. No word yet.

My ‘23 maverick with 1200mi developed a new rattle. Both upper windshield alignment pins have been removed, so I’m pretty confident that the windshield is not the issue this time.

The new rattle sounds like it’s coming from deep inside the dash at the center of the vehicle. It happens almost every time I hit a bump, and it sounds like it’s two loose components vibrating against each other. This is more of a true rattling noise, whereas the windshield pins were just making clicking noises. This rattle seems to be worse in the warm weather, whereas the windshield pins seemed to be worse in cold weather.

Has anybody else had a rattle similar to what I’m describing? I can try to upload a video if nobody else has seen anything like this.
I do, went to the dealer twice and they couldn’t solve it

I asked they cut the little white location tabs when they did the airbag stuff. Begrudgingly they did it, or so they claim..... Still have a cool bonus rattle.

right about the paint, so many chips on the hood. I know it is a cheap truck but I bought the cheapest car in the world one time the 1986 Hyundai sedan for under $4600 when it first came out and it did not rattle and the paint did not chip! drove it 63000 miles till I sold it with no issues
just noticed another chip in front bumper, small but really stands out on cyber orange. Never had so many chips in a new vehicle. i have has a new ford escape every 2 years for 14 years as company cars and never noticed chips on the bumper or hood. going to suck if the bumper chips easily when you get on the highway. there is always something hitting the car on the highway, cant avoid it!

It’s Fixed!!!!!!

Two weeks at dealership but worth the wait. Windshield removed and resealed, rattle/cracking noise still there. Tech spent time on phone with Ford and they went through “realigning” the plastic windshield alignment post, maybe that’s fancy for removal lol, but the noise is gone.

Super happy to have that annoyance gone! Back to Mavericking :)

If pins are removed and rattle remains, double check exhaust tubing for side curtain air bag…might be tapping against the A-pillar metal.

Are the occurrences of these rattles less with MY2023 than they were with MY2022?
My wife recently test drove a MY2022 hybrid so that should could get a feel of the utility of a maverick (we are ordering a MY2024 ecoboost) and it had lots of dash rattles..... and I have to admit.... they were pretty annoying and it was a 90deg day.

They have not been sorted. Ford has not even acknowledged the problem by sending out a TSB two model years in.

Rattles is my biggest complaint about the Maverick. I’ve owned well over 100 Fords this is 1st that rattles was a problem. I bought my 22 used with 8900 miles on the thing and didn’t notice rattles in a short test drive. On way home from purchase a 150 mile drive the rattles raised its ugly head. Unfortunately my Maverick was 1 day past the 12 month so I’m not sure Ford would do anything for me.

I don’t think it covers rattles after 12/12000 as I mentioned it to service writer at my local dealer twice and he’s not said bring it in to look at it. I’ve got an appointment for air bag recall so I’ll mention it again.
