I think I am going to do my own oil changes on my Maverick. It has been a few years since I have done oil changes and I was wondering If I could get some feedback. 2.0 Eco (no 4K or off-road packages).

Does anyone have a ramp recommendation/link for a set of ramps your use? I prefer to get one that is low enough the maverick can clear without using any wood boards, etc?

Also, if you have a recommendation for an oil catch pan you like, that would be great also.

Any other tips or tricks regarding the oil change on 2.0 Ecoboost Maverick, let me know!

Thanks!

Ask your dealer if you can have Free oil changes for life. I have been getting them for ten years in my Chevy Colorado and am getting them on the Maverick.

The dealer I am buying them from is over an hour from me and I just kind of want to do it myself anyway. I want to do them more often since it's a turbo engine and I want to make sure it's done right. I have had a couple of dealers really screw up oil changes here lately. One time they didn't tighten up the drain bolt correctly and another time they didn't screw the oil filter on correctly. They always have their least experienced guys do oil changes.

It actually looks like most of them are now made of plastic, which isn’t very confidence inspiring.

I wouldn’t mind a wooden ramp. I was just trying to find something pre made.

Use a screw gun with torx bit, that under cover comes off in about a minute that way.

I use two pans, one large open top with a capped spout for the crankcase and a smaller pan under the filter. Once the crankcase is draining I break loose the filter and let it drip/drain for a bit. The smaller pan I added a small "shelf" of two bolts/nuts thru the sidewall (sealed with rtv) that i use to drain the filter once it is fully off.

Also a cap style filter wrench works great to get that factory filter off - 76mm fits, push up while turning it off to keep it seated.

Take a can of fluid film under with you, then you can hit any areas of concern.

I use jack stands...

Race Ramps they come in a variety of styles.
The Harbor frieght ones look like they can do the job. Most are made out of solid plastic now.

I have a set of 8" lift Race Ramps that I got for my lowered car but the Maverick is within the weight range so I just plan to use those. Way better than plastic ramps and they are light weight and easy to store.

I've done the oil change on all our cars but never used ramps ever for fear that I might go too far but I was forced to get one for the Maverick because of the shield.

I went with this. I've used it once. I looked at the Walmart one but I think this one is better/stronger.

I own these and have used them for my Toyota and have never worried about issues of them holding up. Plan on using them whenever my Maverick finally here.

The one from harbor freight is rated for 13000 pounds, I think that would cover the Maverick.
