My 24 EB should be at the dealers about a month from now. 1st oil change will be by 1000 miles, then will make an appointment when the oil life drops to around 15%. Currently drive a 2020 Escape Titanium with 64,000+ and have followed the 15% since I bought used at 9400 miles. I tow north to snowmobile winters. That 15% usually gets me over 9000 between changes. I always use full synthetic.

I have 10,000 on my 23 Lariat. Changed at 1000, 5,000 and just now after a 4000 mile trip. Usually every 3000.

I have a 24 XLT ECOBOOST I was wondering when to do oil change dealer says 5k but ford pass is saying like 10k I did my first one at 5k now I’m hitting 10k and my ford pass is saying I got a little over 5k to go and at 62% oil life looking for recommendations so I don’t blow my warranty. tia
Take the ford recommendions and throw them in the garbage if you keep a vehicle a LONG time, they don't care what happens after the warranty is up, if you're leasing or sell your vehicle after 3/4/5 years you can follow them just to keep your warranty in tack. I changed my oil at 3k first time and 5k after that I don't care what anybody says, 100 bucks every 5k is peanuts and you won't regret it. I also rotate my tires every other oil change and will be changing the tranny fluid and diff fluids at 30k or 3 years. Save all your receipts if you don't use Ford for service. 40 years working for dealer, Retired. 22 FX4 LUX.

Every 5k on Ecoboost Engine. Every 10k on Hybrid Engine. Use Full Synthetic Oil all the time with extended performance filters. I have had both engines in the past, and this formula has worked for me. Still have a 2014 Escape with 162k miles on it. Had a 2014 Transit Connect with 315k, and another 2016 Transit Connect with 267k on that one. Always following this method listed. Just my experience and opinion.

Very true statement, I teach auto tech at our local community college and we do engine teardowns and you can always tell which motors had early and frequent oil changes vs the 10k bare minimum.

Especially so for the smaller turbo motors. Full synthetic and 5k oil changes for sure on an ecoboost motor.

I would recommend full synthetic oil.
I agree. Full synthetic. It’s incomprehensible to me that, in this modern era, Ford wouldn’t spec. full synthetic knowing it’s life will be better than the blend it recommends.

As a retired Ford dealer tech I have seen a lot of turbos going bad at 60k due to high mileage oil changes. Turbos generate a lot of heat thus braking down the oil. I had a 2011 f150 3.5L eco never had a problem. I have changed my oil at 3500 to 4000k miles. I have used Mobil 1 full syn for years in all my vehicles. The inside of the engines are as clean as day 1. One other point let the engine idle a minute before shut down to let the turbo spool down and cool a bit.

This is my 4th ecoboost vehicle - I've been changing the oil and filter at 5K with all of them, and never had an engine issue on any of them. Granted, my Escape only had 36K when I traded it in, but I had absolutely no issues with it.

I know it's a bit anecdotal - I could easily have changed them every 7500 and probably not had a problem but as noted in other posts, the engine oil also lubricates the turbo and that does get hot. Clean oil that hasn't broken down is very helpful for long engine life.

I do every 5K. Easy to remember. And rotate the tires every 10K. That is easy to remember, too. My truck is an FX4 EB.

I don't think it's an opinion that the EB is not an extended oil change engine. 10k is way too much.

Most people chose around 3-7k for the EB. The medium is around 5k.

The issue is fuel dilution and it's very evident in the EB's.

Change around 3-5k for the first 3 while sending in an oil analysis to Blackstone at each one and go from there. Most averages tend to be around 5-7k.

Nobody is saying 10k is okay for the EB's. Hybrids, yes. But not the EB's.
Correct not opinion. I have had my oil samples and analyses down from blackstone. Believe it or not I sent it in at 50 percent oil life. Everything came back great they said to extend to the full life of the oil life monitor. This come back fine. So I guess it’s not opinion it’s proven. Now that depends on oil I’m sure but I tow a lot and drive it hard being tuned. Zero issues.

This is perfectly fine. My wife has a 2.0 edge. Pushing 250k miles of tuned on e30.
First oil change early. Then change it every time the olm says it’s time. Amsoil 5w30 and filter. Blackstone reports come back fine everytime I did them.
So yes it sure makes us feel good doing them early and nothing wrong with that. But it is not needed. Same with my last 3.5 ecoboost and that went well over 400k before it got hit by and uninsured motorists.

I like data. Way better than anyone's opinion. Surprising though how many will still argue against it.
Thanks for the input.

I was guilty of changing it very early. Then decide to bite the $30 and start having blackstone or lake speed jr’s company do the analysis. Much better way to monitor and spend money.
