I have a 24 hybrid Maverick XLT and three out of five times that I turn the truck off the radio reverts back to FM instead of staying on my tunes on my USB is there a fix for this it's annoying as bleep to have to change the source almost every time. Is there a software update anyone know of.

Mine does the same thing. It will restart on the USB maybe 1 in 5 or 6 times. I have just gotten used to the crappy Sync system.
Have you tried the built in navigation? It's easier to stop at a wino hangout and ask for directions . . . and way more accurate.

You might need a recall performed. I have the same issues with my "entertainment system" and I am supposed to bring it to the dealer for reprogramming. Have yet to do it.

Nothing will help. It's just a poorly implemented setup. It glitches all the time. Mine has been updated. Still has issues.

We had the same Sync system in our old Explorer and it had the same issues over the six years we had it, was a common complaint. No fix. USB did seem to be more stable than bluetooth but I've only had my '24 Maverick xlt for a few weeks and the bluetooth has glitched several times. Not enough to do a reboot, but have to re-connect the phone. Just loaded some musicc on a USB flash drive, will see how reliable that is. Have not had issues with wired Apple car play thru my Iphone 12 yet...

On a prior thread I characterized my experience with the AV system that it apparently spins the wheel of random nonsense everytime it starts up to find new and exciting ways to annoy and disappoint me.

Regarding USB as a music source it's what I use 100% of the time. For the system to resume USB upon restart for me is rare enough that I consider it an exception rather than the norm. It almost always reverts to FM radio.

Sad to say my expectations of anything better have been dashed by the consistent feedback by folks on this forum...

Same here on my '23 lariat Lux, w/Sync 3, but a bit better than the '22 XLT Lux w/Sync 2 I had.

2. TARFU Things are really F#*% up. (Getting bad around here, anyone got an idea?)
3. FUBAR F#$* upped beyond all repair (Run for cover, it's all over. Not fixable!
A Reservist friend of mine when asked to do certain tasks would quip 'FIBIJAR" F#$*% it buddy, I'm just a reservist!

Mine switches to the oldies station. Usually I don't even notice until a commercial break. I figured the radio stations paid Ford to make it switch so they can get a commercial in once in a while. Otherwise, who listens to the radio anymore?

24MY XLT - Even though mine starts to radio usually - there is usually that fast sync with USB drive shown on screen anyway, and drive light flashing as it happens.

I always pause mine before exit when I've been listening to USB.
When I do come back to it, as long as I wait for that sync to happen before attempting to listen - it always remembers right where I was at. Sometimes it doesn't keep the pause and starts playing.

System seems to have a fast timeout for many of you, comes back on to play USB, not loaded yet, so timeout and switch to something else.

Considering all the other things the truck keeps on after you turn off and open door, seems like logging your pause point would be easy.
They just need to increase the time-out on startup. I think less complaints about no music for awhile than wrong music quickly.

I can’t even get it to remember I was just on Bluetooth audio a few minutes ago, some weeks it won’t stay on Bluetooth one single time between key cycles, and the next week it won’t give a single problem. It’s infuriating.

First and foremost, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!! I was draft age during VietNam, but I was married and had a child. Married was OK, having another dependent was not. I tried all Service branches, but was turned down for that reason.
Glad I could bring back some memories. I have never heard the last one.

Was having the same issue with the usb cable disconnecting and getting a black screen. Mobile hotspot your phone to your car. Then check for updates. I had to do the update and everything has been fine since.

That update is only a Lariat thing with Sync 3.

I guess they could come up with an update to the prior non-Sync system, but it seems to be a useless setting and process.

For those on 22MY non-Sync3, that never enabled auto-update with WiFi setup, what's your version?
I did have update enabled with WiFi initially, but disabled since. My 24MY is:
