I run Huskys, they're soft rubber not hard plastic, great fit and no gaps. I loved the older Weathertecs when they were made of heavy rubber but don't care for the new plastic.
I think the newer hard plastic is popular amongst those who clean em often and want them to look new all the time...
I just got a few blank Ford HU101 'Test Blades' from an online site Locksmith Keyless for $2.25 each and will have a local locksmith make a mechanical copy of my switchblade key.
I ordered a Tiptop soft Trifold from Amazon last Fall for $170 delivered. Easy install, perfect fit, only gets wet during the heaviest rainstorms. Doesn't completely fold up like some other tri folds but is easily removeable for full access to the bed.
No cooldown for me, as mentioned above, turbo design is much more sofisticated than 30-40 years ago.
If anyone reports signs of coking on a Maverick turbo, then this might be a relevant discussion.
I do believe the quality/cleanliness of your oil is more important with a turbo, and change every...
I run a Tiptop TPX3 soft trifold (54.4"), perfect fit. $159 from Amazon. Very water tight. Hardware has not loosened with use.
Tiptop does also make a hard trifold but it's about $450, while there are other hard trifolds available for half that.
I went with a soft top thinking it'd be lighter...
Anyone who complains about the 2.0 eco motor should drive a Bronco Sport with the 1.5 eco motor, you'll never complain again.
For the bargain basement price of an entry level Maverick, Ford could have cheaped out and stuck the XLs & XLTs with a lesser motor. They didn't.
I read a lot of complaints about the hard plastics in the Maverick interior but our '18 Explorer had just as many hard plastics for a sticker price twice as high.
I love old jeeps & trucks with steel dashes and to me, the Maverick interior is a modern version of that. Basic, utilitarian, ready...
I just refinanced my two month old 2024 Maverick and my bank was surprised that what was sticker priced at $31k was worth $29k used, they don't usually see such low depreciation.
I hadn't thought about it before this thread, but if Ford plans to stock Mavericks like other models then jacking up...
I cut a piece of plywood to sit over the wheelwells and put some Husky storage tubs on em for small items, bigger items in the Rough Country storage bin. The plywood fits right against the storage bin so it doesn't shift around but I can screw it to the beveled 2x4 underneath it if needed...
On my 2.0 Ecoboost FWD XLT (not FX4) I'm not experiencing any hesitation unless I forget to turn off the Auto Stop/Start, then it's noticeable.
I've run it in normal, sport & eco and each feels different in terms of throttle response but none had any hesitation.
I'd also talk to my dealer and...
I'd try a high pressure washer.
No way I'd remove the front clip, or pay someone else to do it. Not for something that can clog up again tomorrow.
Someone else on another thread here placed screen over their opening and held it in place with tie wraps.
Greenville S.C.
Was lucky to purchase mine off the lot from Fairway Ford who actually had three on the lot available at the time (white XL, white XLT lux & the Cactus Grey XLT lux I took home). All were FWD Ecoboosts, which is what I would have ordered.
Not had leaves there yet but get a lot in the window cowl and between the tonneau and the rear window, even high speeds don't clear em, but my leaf blower does.
Yes, good luck and hope you get all your needed supplies.
Here in Greenville S.C. we were without power for 10 days and we're only a 15 minute drive from downtown Greenville.
Be prepared, and don't assume you can just get what you need afterwards. I had a small Harbor Freight 700w generator...
All our Fords back to 2010 came with pretty cheap batteries that failed at 5-6 years, on our '18 explorer my wife cranked it up just fine, drove 10 blocks to the local quickie mart, and it failed to start when she left. My voltmeter showed 10 volts, making me think a cell just suddenly died...
To be clear, I have not run the platform without the cargo box in place, so as is, it could slide back and dump the Husky boxes without the cargo box in place.
Just sitting on the wheel wells. I have a 2x4 underneath it sitting in the beveled slots, I may run a few wood screws thru the top into the 2x4 to keep it in place when I remove the cargo box but as is, it doesn't shift a bit. We got hit hard by Helene so that cargo box is full of gas cans at...
Smallest one available which is Compact Truck sized, from there they size up to Midsized then Full Sized. You can input your truck on their site which will confirm if it fits, for grins I tried to add the Midsized box and their site flagged it as 'Will Not Fit' for Maverick.
Was not aware the new Kia truck is body on frame, assumed it was using an existing unibody platform. Makes me wonder if this is all new, or maybe an overseas commercial platform modified for U.S.
Kia and Subaru both have been teasing trucks based on their unibody platforms but neither are hinting at a USA release anytime soon. The Kia looks more trucklike than the Santa Fe. So far it looks if anyone else brings a unibody truck here it will be Toyota first, but after they dropped the big...
