I once tried to run a sawsall, no go. Used it once to charge a laptop. Mostly it goes unused.

I have often thought that there is an opportunity for Ford to offer a big inverter for the Maverick. Even if the truck needs to be idling, it would provide emergency power. But then, that is what "Pro Power Onboard" is on the F150 Hybrid.
I think that the most useful feature of the 400 watt outlet would be charging/recharging various tool batteries. I have the DeWalt 20 volt system for 3 or 4 tools, and keeping those batteries charged would be a perfect task for this outlet. A very small vehicle refrigerator would run fine off that too, though they probably plug into the 12 volt outlet (what we old folks used to call the cigarette lighter socket). A lamp, a small TV or radio, maybe, but 400 watts isn't a lot and those loads add up quickly.

I think the F-150 has a big inverter/generator system available, but I'm not sure exactly how big. 2000 watts rings a bell - which will run a pretty big power tool like a saw.

If you want to run the sump from your hybrid Maverick you will have to install a pure sine inverter which will handle up to 16v DC input (probably 3000 watt to get that). Find high enough fuze in truck most likely at battery positive but ground at body not neg post. Truck will have to be ON because DCDC converter will need to supply current not the small OEM 12v battery. Be sure to protect your wire with proper fuze as the OEM 12v is fuzed with 200amp. Ice will cycle on/off as HVB needs charging. Be sure to use heavy enough extension cord no longer than necessary for sump.
This is on the right track, but a 3kw inverter will draw over 300 amps, and require huge welding cables as leads. A 2kw inverter is about the largest you could use, Victron is great, Renogy acceptable, Giandel just. The Victron can probably handle the surge, the others less so. I picked up a 1.5k that I'll eventually install. Will Prowse just posted a youtube video on a 5k portable solution that you can build that would work. Portable being on a cart, your need a ramp or crane to get it in the truck. His DIY Solar Forum, linked in his video, is the MTC equivalent for solar power.

Yes you will have to charge a separate LiFePO4 12v of adequate ah to power a 3k. The trick is to have a voltage and limiter to deliver less than the over voltage protection of your invertor since the hybrid Maverick can furnish at least 15.7v which I have seen on mine. Or live with inverter sometimes shutting down.
Edit to add: A 2k inverter most likely would have over voltage protection of 15 volts.

Why would you want your Maverick engine to cycle on and off repeatedly only to keep recharging the HV battery, that in turn charges the 12v battery through a DC-DC converter? Make much more sense to just buy a gas or dual fuel gas or propane generator to run the sump pump. Wear and tear on a $30,000+ vehicle to simply run a home sump pump?

I read that it would be rare to use in an emergency situation.

it's lots less hassle to maintain a separate generator, when the truck is already always maintained.

I've carried food to a party, on two different occasions, in a regular crock pot. Worked great.
That's the only thing I've used mine for at this point. And yes it works great especially in cold weather.

When we had a power failure on Thanksgiving, I was happy the Maverick was able to power the crock pot to finish cooking the sweet potato casserole while the rest was being cooked on the grill.

We had a power outage this AM and I have a sump pump in the basement. Power was going to be out for an extended period, I so figured I would run an extension cord to basement and plug sump pump into the bed outlet....400w was not enough to kick the pump on and my warning light was flashing. Thinking of ideas for next time as I go to store to look at generators...lucky for me the power came back before the pit overflowed....
A few weeks after I got my Mav we had a power outage and I figured I'd make some coffee but my 110 inverter wouldn't power it. Since then I figured it's pretty much useless.

For pumps you will need a standalone generator, nothing major but since you're at it, get one that can also power a few appliances, like a fridge for instance.

The built in invertor on the Maverick is only good for very light loads, eg you're camping and need lighting (get LED lights), Laptop, battery charger,

My homemade battery generator uses a pure sine inverter that is rated to 3000w peak (startup) power, and 1800w continuous power.
1800 watts and 12 volts works out to 150 Amps , basic ohms law, your 12 volt battery won't last long at that kind of current.

Well aware of this. It does handle my fridge for days, and my microwave and electric skillet for their needed intervals. It's mostly a camping tool!

FYI roasted then ground okra seeds can be substituted for caffeine free coffee that is a great hot drink particularly for those who are not fond of coffee.🤗
