  1. Loose splash shield flapping and dragging after oil change.

After 2 different Ford Quick Lanes repeatedly left out screws and stripped the clip nuts on the splash shield on my Escape, I went back to doing my own oil changes. My Maverick has only been done by me and will be as long as I am physically able. Most oil change "technicians" and their...
  2. Camper Swaying Over 50mph

Good point, the OP could add sway control without a WDH.
  3. Camper Swaying Over 50mph

I tow a camper that's usually around 2900 lbs loaded with a tongue weight around 390 lbs and I haven't had a problem with sway (no WDH). Total length is about 17' and height is only 7' so it's somewhat smaller than yours. I travel at 65 MPH but have had it briefly up to 75 MPH when situations...
  4. DiamondBack bed cover

I went with the DiamondBack SE and mounted T-slot rails on it to mount cross bars used for carrying bikes or a hard sided cargo box.
  5. Greetings from MI! 2026 Ruby Red Lariat

Welcome neighbor, your truck looks great!
  6. Hard Bed Covers for Maverick

This is the best picture I have right now. The 2x6s are held to the Rhino Rack cross bars with U-bolts. The fork mounts are from Amazon and bolted to the 2x6. The rear wheels are sitting in a channel made with 2x2s and held with velcro straps. The frames are also tied to the 2x6 with ratchet...
  7. Hard Bed Covers for Maverick

The Rhino Rack rails I used came with gaskets and I also added some silicone caulk. After 2.5 years I haven't had any leaks from the rail mounting hardware.
  8. Hard Bed Covers for Maverick

I didn't buy the ones from DiamondBack, I did my own setup by cutting down some Rhino Rack T-slot rails and then used the Rhino cross bars with homemade bike mounts made with 2x6s and fork mounts from Amazon. I did have to drill the cover to attach the rails which I was also hesitant doing, but...
  9. First Camping trip with the Trailer!

Depending on who you talk to you will get different opinions on the LiFePO battery charging. I have some experience in this area and here is my opinion. From the truck 7 pin you will probably get some trickle charging, with charge voltage to the trailer LiFePO battery limited by the voltage...
  10. Hard Bed Covers for Maverick

I have a DiamondBack cover and it's pretty good but not perfect. I still think it's a good option and would buy it again. It provides the security I want while traveling and camping. I also mounted T-slot rails on top of it to attach cargo cross bars to haul bikes or a hard sided luggage...
  11. Mud guards (slim low profile) for Lobo?

I'll second the RokBlokz if you can stomach the price. That's what I bought.
  12. Giveaway! Quick Survey – What Matters Most When Choosing Floor Mats?

Regarding the locking clips, please make them so they hold securely but aren't hard to unclip. I have a set of WeatherTechs on my Escape that are tearing out the posts in the carpet when trying to remove the mats because the clips hold too tight.
  13. Free onX Elite for 1 Year From Ford

I just noticed in the Ford App messages that I can get 1 year of onX Elite map apps for free (https://www.onxmaps.com/ford). Has anyone used the onX map apps and are they worth the hassle of signing up? I believe it requires providing a credit card for auto renewal, so you will need to...
  14. Roast My Trailer Choice, 3k dry weight, 400lb tongue weight

I'm no expert, but here is my opinion. It's too big. The tongue weight alone is too high. Once you add propane, a battery, water, and the WDH itself the tongue weight will probably be over 600 lbs. I know on a static basis the WDH will reduce the apparent tongue weight, but I don't believe...

  16. Giveaway! Quick Survey – What Matters Most When Choosing Floor Mats?

For me it's fit followed by durability, and coverage. Also, for the driver's mat that snaps over the carpet pegs to keep it in place, don't make the snaps hard to unsnap.
  17. Newbie needs help with a borderline towing situation

I think you will be fine if you stay within the specified limits. I tow a trailer with a 380-400 lbs loaded tongue weight with total trailer weight around 2900 lbs and it handles fine. Just remember to keep the tongue weight in the 10%-15% range of total trailer weight.
  18. Towing an Airstream Bambi

Actually I think it's worse than you think. Looking at the Airstream windows it appears to be a Caravel, not a Bambi. The Caravel 16RB has: Hitch Weight with LP & Batteries (lbs.) 520 So Ford is lying. Maybe without LP and batteries you might just hit 400 lbs. I'm sure they would say...
  19. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

I would be less worried that my insurance company wouldn't repair/replace my vehicle than if someone was injured or killed in an accident and it was identified that you were overloaded. The lawyers would love it.
  20. 3800 lb trailer, 467 lb tongue weight

I'm with those that think it's too much trailer for the Maverick. I don't believe that a WDH will increase the (Ford) allowed tongue weight. If that was the case I think Ford would list it in their tow guide. Some trucks have a max tongue weight that is increased with a WDH, but the Maverick...
