I had them on my truck for a while. Great tire, especially in rain in snow. Then I got some sidewall damage from road debris. After 40k miles, they still had a good amount of tread on them.
The only downside to them is they do a number on the fuel economy. I easily lost 2-3 MPG with them, but...
Keep in mind, it will only charge your 12V when the vehicle is off. The larger battery is disconnected when its off. You might be able to make it trickle into the high voltage battery when driving, but I have low expectations of what range it might provide.
I never got this campaign notification. Fixed it once before, back in April, and then it started happening again. I brought it in to get the axles fixed again under my extended warranty, and that's how I found out about it. I was pleasantly surprised that they replaced both instead of just...
Out of curiosity, is there a Ford customer service that one could call and have them remotely unlock the vehicle, kind of like OnStar? I imagine that since we can unlock it from our app, there would have to be a way to call an 800 number, prove your identity, and have someone hit unlock at Ford.
Its original from early 2022. Its just been deep sleeping more often lately. Today, I got the notification after an hour drive and parking. Was just hoping a battery replacement was all I needed, or if I had to hook up Forscan.
When we had a power failure on Thanksgiving, I was happy the Maverick was able to power the crock pot to finish cooking the sweet potato casserole while the rest was being cooked on the grill.
So the dealership replaced my passenger side half-shaft last week, and for a couple of days it was better. Now, I have an increasing growing louder grinding noise, typically if there is any steering to the left, and less when steering to the right. The dealership still has no loaners/rentals...
I'm on the lower side of the MPG range, but I'm usually at the higher end of the speed limit, and I don't take my time accelerating. (the new tires aren't helping either, but I rather have better traction than better MPG)
But when I'm forced to go slower, the computer calculated bumps back up...
I've never drove a lot in sand, but I agree with you regarding snow. FWD is fine majority of the time, and when you get to the point that you NEED AWD, might as well stay home. Snow is more about tires than anything.
I do see the biggest benefit of the AWD is to get the towing up to a usable...
