I once tried to run a sawsall, no go. Used it once to charge a laptop. Mostly it goes unused.

I have often thought that there is an opportunity for Ford to offer a big inverter for the Maverick. Even if the truck needs to be idling, it would provide emergency power. But then, that is what "Pro Power Onboard" is on the F150 Hybrid.
The 400 watt inverter requires that the hybrid is in accessory with DCDC active as power comes from the HVB and NOT THE 12V battery.

I've carried food to a party, on two different occasions, in a regular crock pot. Worked great.
I checked my crocpots. Small is 200 watts, large 270 watts, both are labeled "Household use only"! Good to know on camping trip = wake up to hot oatmeal, just leave truck on!🤗. = Put several hours on 12v charging and put coffee in mesh bag in tin pot to seep surrounded by oatmeal or even maybe "monkey pull" cinnamon rolls in second tin can. Maybe check out wattage on multi pot Crocs and find one less than 400 watts??? FYI roasted then ground okra seeds can be substituted for caffeine free coffee that is a great hot drink particularly for those who are not fond of coffee.🤗

I use my Maverick 400 watt AC socket to power my DeWalt battery charger. The chargers draw between 200-360 watts depending on the model. This works great when working with tools away from normal A/C power.

Those lithium battery generators are also a good option, they can be recharged with the truck's power while traveling (proper charger required). They're light and portable and can power most appliances with decent staying power. I've run a 40l travel fridge 24/7 for days without needing a charge, and can run most household electronics like coffee brewers and even a small microwave. They also charge pretty quickly with a solar panel if camping, etc..

We had a power outage this AM and I have a sump pump in the basement. Power was going to be out for an extended period, I so figured I would run an extension cord to basement and plug sump pump into the bed outlet....400w was not enough to kick the pump on and my warning light was flashing. Thinking of ideas for next time as I go to store to look at generators...lucky for me the power came back before the pit overflowed....
The bed outlet, and the one on back of console in the cab, are only capable of 400 watts in intermittent use. That AC is intended for a cell phone charger, or laptop charger. That is about it.

No way in heck to use it like you were thinking.

A 1/2 horsepower (HP) sump pump typically uses between 800 and 1050 watts of power. The actual wattage can vary slightly depending on the specific model and the pump's operating conditions.

Most 1/2 HP sump pumps operate within the 800-1050 watt range while running.

At startup, the pump may draw significantly more power, potentially up to 2150-4100 watts, for a very short period.

Those battery pack type "generators" cannot handle the initial start up rush current of a 1/3 or 1/2 horsepower sump pump motor.

POWER OUTLET LIMITATIONS

Do not use the power outlet for these types of devices:
  • Cathode ray tube type televisions.
  • Motor loads, for example vacuum cleaners, electric saws and other electric power tools, or compressor-driven refrigerators.
  • Measuring devices which process precise data, for example medical equipment or measuring equipment.
  • Other appliances requiring an extremely stable power supply, for example microcomputer-controlled electric blankets or touch sensor lamps.
A sump pump falls under motor load. I plugged in a shop vac and dug out the manual before I turned it on and realized i would probably blow the fuse.
People don't realize the surge power those sump pumps require to start. Not even standard solar inverters and UPS can handle it - sump pumps require a higher capacity UPS and I would look into those specifically.

My homemade battery generator uses a pure sine inverter that is rated to 3000w peak (startup) power, and 1800w continuous power.

Some accept 12v input to charge at a particular rate say 10.8 amps and may have a second 12v input for a second 10.8 amps to increase the rate of charge. So depending on circuit fuse size charging could be from one or two truck circuits. Handy if your commute time is not long enough for 80-100% recharge.

Consequences of using too small of a generator, especially one with a low surge level on motorized equipment.

Neighbor had a 3.5 Ton Central heat and air conditioning system in his 2,000 square foot home in central Florida.
I still have my wheel horse Generac generator.

It’s rated 5500 running watts and 8750 surge, that is a very high surge for such a mid range running power level. The wheel house/ horse was built for job site use, power tools and such.

Back to my neighbor, he had the same generator. He tried to power his central air system. It was a three year old system, SEER was 16.
I told him start up surge was just over 10,000 watts. As stated above the wheel horse max surge was 8,750 watts.

It started after an eight to ten second struggle.
Once running it seemed fine and likely pulling about 3,000 watts.
A/C systems cycle on the thermostats.
His A/C Scroll compressor died the next day.
Very expensive.
TECO had our power back on two days later.
Hurricanes are a bitch.

I expect to use it next month to inflate a queen mattress while camping with siblings and our offspring. (no, sleeping without the air mattress is not an option for my back anymore!).

maje sure you check the power draw on your inflation pump. I have one for my inflatable kayak and the draw is too high for the 400w Mav outlet.

Check out July 4 Ryobi days at home Depot buy starter kit = 2 batteries and charger $99 and get free tool (one is inflator/deflator) specs say 55 queen mattresses with 4ah battery! Plus does tires etc up to 160 psi?

I tried plugging in a small electric leave blower - it was a No-Go.
I tried a very small handheld vacuum no go, about the only thing its good for is recharging your drill battery's.
