For all you Lariat haters... I test drove the XLT and started adding the options I wanted. By the time I was done it was just a few hundred short of the Lariat. I pulled the trigger on the Lariat and I'm glad I did! There are a bunch of "Easter eggs" that I didn't know I needed and now I use daily. Don't end up regretting your decision a year from now by not upgrading.
I'd love to prove you wrong but I know is a waste of time..you are from California and used to overpay for everything
"Easter Eggs" are priced in..and you pay on your Escape with a bed as much as you'd pay for a F150 with a V8 Coyote because of them

Best value is XL ..everything else is not needed. When you pay more on a truck you do it for increase payload or tow rating not for Easter Eggs
You gain no HP, no extra MPG, no extra tow rating, no extra payload ..yet you pay 15k more over XL...

comfort. I figure its like a month of work for the price difference, if you intend to keep the car for like 10 years, im going all in on the options. my daily has been acceptable, I like it, but its bare bones. I want the nicer options now. if I only intended to keep it for short, id not opt for everything.

one reason I did not get BAP, is lets say years later I need parts, theres going to be less BAP parts to swap in, ie, seats get rips etc, prob find more lariats, than BAP lariat seats if I needed one.

XLT even before the refresh. For those who had 2023 rollovers could have bought a 24 XLT for 27ish if I recall. Great deal IMO. 25s base XLT is 31 or 35 for what seems to be the new "must have" AWD 4k tow. Crazy prices.

Time will tell as to what electrical gremlins will pop up with NEW TO MAVERICK electrical architecture. I used CAPS in case someone makes the argument that sync 4 etc is used on escape.

Ford Maverick Owner Review: 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD Captur

You sound like one of my friends, whose only consideration of a vehicle seems to be "how fast car go?" Some people practically live out of their vehicles and want more "extras" than others who just use a vehicle in their retirement to run 1.5 miles down the road for groceries once a month.

i see your point. Keep in mind the higher trim might not have the most comfortable ones. I had 3 TRX ..one base 2 lvl 2. Level 2 seats had ventilation, and many way to adjust yet they were more uncomfortable than the base ones. I thought it was just my imagination til I started seeing threads about Lvl 2 owners complaining about comfort while base owner not understanding the issue. We ended up getting the mesuraments and low and behold the base chairs were longer giving more leg support

I like the head lights and pro trailer assist that the Lariat gets. Otherwise I like the rest of the XLT better. I don't like heated seats, I don't like leather and I don't like 19 inch rims.

I think they did a real good job on the 6.5" screen and the analog gauges on the 22-24 Lariats and FX4s (maybe XLT Lux too?). The XL and XLT screens looked decently laid out too.

Here's just one example from another manufacturer, except this might be even worse...

Agree again, the execution & layout of my '22 Lariat FX4 meter is really nice. You're right, the GM meter is even more of a train wreck! 😱 Classic example of trying too hard... 😅

>> For all you Lariat haters...

I don't think anybody "hates" the Lariat. Or the XLT. There are just people who don't value higher end trims on cheaply built vehicles. Frankly, you will read that in almost any professional automotive review of a cheap vehicle ever written.

Heck, I have LUX on my XLT and I love it. The XL base only guys would (and do) tell me it's dumb, but I don't think they're haters. They just assign different values than me to different things.

It's refreshing to see these honest reviews from real owners rather than polished journalist reviews from all the hot-shot Youtube channels. I don't mind if it's not edited and not always having the right things to say. Life isn't perfect anyway. This makes it more realistic and entertaining. I may even do a review myself if I end up getting the new Maverick. I really like the look of Space White. It reminds me of a color called Ceramic Mica that was available when the Mazda CX-3 launched back in 2016. It changes color depending on how the light hits it. It compliments the interior nicely.

The color is my primary concern right now. I ordered green (like many others) and the video review of the green lariat has me "concerned" outside looks great, inside looks great ... the inside and outside together not so much. How did Ford not realize that a one year color would be so popular and then go with a single clashing interior option.
In Ford’s defense, I think the blue interior trim is actually going to clash with several exterior colors.

In all seriousness, if it’s legal where you live, and you aren’t opposed to it - consider tinting the windows. It will darken the interior and make the blue trim less “electric,” and also make it harder to see from the outside. When you’re driving, you’ll see the green hood, but any blue will be in your peripheral vision and not as offensive.

It’s on purpose to encourage the outlier colors to pay 1600 for black out package I think

My heated seats the other morning up here in northern VT at -18F felt so friggin great I simply cannot put it into words. (y) Yes, had it on the 3 red light setting too. LOL.

NOT my video. But 37 comprehensive minutes with the 2025 AWD Hybrid Lariat!!!

EDIT: A few notes from the review:

  • First Ford ever for reviewer. Currently owns Model Y and Land Cruiser
  • Likes interior colors - say they do not reflect photos on line // will not look good with EG (I disagree)
  • Said 8" driver infotainment screen is same fuzzy resolution as previous 6.5" screen and no longer shows power split between electric/hybrid/regen - HUGE MISS AND BUMMER TO ME
  • Has to keep rear center seatbelt buckled because anyone sitting in the back seats causes that belt to go off
  • Wireless charging pad is still - crappy
  • Impressed with initial build quality of Maverick
  • Video quality of 360 cameras is excellent (compares to Tesla)
  • Compares B&O to Tesla and Land Cruiser (JBL) - says the sound system is amazing, claims to love music, but then has terrible EQ settings - so YMMV
  • LASTLY - reviewer does not believe Maverick is worth the money for a Lariat. So all you haters have more fuel!!
I liked what I saw in that video.
Audio quality is a big thing for me. I am an audiophile, and I also own a Tesla. Tesla has the best audio system there is, and if the audio quality in the Maverick is on par with it, I'll be happy.

I need those wheels on my '22 XLT now. This might sound crazy, but I like how they look on this truck over most of the aftermarket wheels I've seen lol. Gives me the fizz.
