this are ppl that havent pirchased a new car in 10 years..my TRX that is 3 times more expensive than this doesnt have physical knobs either. Just ignore them...if the knobs were there theyd find another petty thing to complain about..no knobs is the norm for any new vechicle regardless of the brand
Just because no knobs is the norm, does not mean that it should be. Last vehicle before the Maverick was a 2018 Honda CRV. No knobs for HVAC control and hated that about it.

Having knobs on my 23 Hybrid to control the HVAC is one of the many features I love about my Maverick.

I agree . knobs are the way to go. I makes no sense with the heater controls. I looked at a Ranger Lariat with the huge screen and it still has knobs for heater controls at bottom PLUS on the screen too. I can control heater never taking my eyes off the road on my 23 Mav. . Cant with ANY screen control type. I bet no one can without looking. With all the distractions drivers have do we NEED any more. NO. .
I still need to look away from the road to adjust the knobs on my maverick’s HVAC, to adjust the side-to-side split temp digital readout, the heated seats and heated steering wheel.

On the flip side, my commuter car is a Tesla and the HVAC controls are all built into the touch screen. It takes me no more time or distraction of my attention to change the controls on the Tesla as it does on my Maverick. The only exception is that it is slightly more annoying because you have to touch the HVAC set point in the bottom left of the screen to get the full control panel to pop up, but there is zero lag and the full controls pop up in the exact same spot, so you don’t need to readjust your hand position. It is just one extra button tap to make it all work.

This was my experience with my Model 3.

Plus even with my 2023 Tremor it was largely a set it and forget it on auto.

Everyone here acting like they got their 3 dial HVAC memorized by detents and not taking their eyes off the road 💀💀💀
Well, that’s exactly it.

I actually use auto, so I honestly don’t care too much about the MY25 HVAC tweak...

But to your point, on the “older” Mavericks, consider the big dial on the right: the “detents” are usually good for 1F each - clockwise is higher temp, counterclockwise is lower temp. And I can absolutely reach down and find that dial without taking my eyes off the road, and without worrying about stray fingers activating adjacent buttons with just a glance. It really isn’t complicated - my 2014 Acura had an auto HVAC system that blows the Maverick’s away on all kinds of levels, but its temp dial worked exactly the same way.

I agree 100% that there is a lot of “back in my day” around this forum (oil thread, anyone?) but the HVAC control changes aren’t subject to that IMHO. The industry trading proven ergonomic concepts for touchscreens has zero to do with user experience, but it absolutely impacts it, unfortunately.

If knobs are no big thing then why does the NEW ranger have them Plus subura added the knobs back too on the latest version.

As I said can be done without looking plus Ranger has knobs too. Can be done without looking unless you can not feel with your fingers. I hate the model 3 controls. Friend has one I was like man that is awful.

Still splitting hairs? Guys regardless of knob or no knob you still have to take the eyes off the road to operate the climate controls. I'll give you that, knobs are allowing granular adjustment but at the end of the day is not a deal breaker. Personally i'm more interested in seat comfort, ac/heat power (vents not being obstructed ) etc. Life is too short to get hang up on a darn knob imo

I love how every forum post discussing the MY25 Mav ends up just being an argument about HVAC knobs.
I still want to argue about the front end re-design but it is growing on me...

Soooo many videos like this for all manufacturers. Crazy how many people make livings reviewing vehicles and never bother to learn anything about them. Makes me contemplate a side gig purely for dissemenating accurate information.
They get paid ? Really ?

Yep. I forgot the calculation but it's something like one million subscribers/likes/follows with enough content is easily a six figure salary paid out by you tube such as TFL or Matt's recovery - Or just go crazy like the Ryans world clan and gross $28M in 2021 -
