  1. A/C always on at startup

I have a 2025 Hybrid and I set the fan speed manual 4 with face+foot vents and temp stays at 72F. The Maverick keeps the cabin a fairly consistent temp (I have a thermometer/voltmeter in the power port) inside and comfortable. I rarely feel the need to monkey with the system. I do remote start...
  2. Best replacement wipers?

  3. Replacement Windshield Wiper recommendations

I got the WINNERS set on Amazon that is specifically for our Mavericks and sized correctly as a pair. The wipe quality is great, but as they're still new I don't have any data on longevity... but as they're not terribly expensive ($19) they can just be replaced as needed...
  4. ICE is the future - for Hybrids

Been EMS for 15 years and have seen the results of old and new vehicles in MVAs. I have no tunnel vision about the difference between now and then. We are much better off now with modern safety systems and good power to weight ratios. Agree to disagree.
  5. ICE is the future - for Hybrids

The discussion referenced was centered around Geo Metros and the like. 80s and 90s era vehicles. Great economy but dog slow and death traps in severe accidents.
  6. ICE is the future - for Hybrids

Firm disagree. Being unable to stop, steer, and accelerate reasonably are all safety issues for compact passenger vehicles. Just like not having crumple zones and a suite of airbags is a safety issue. We're past needing to have underpowered, anemic engines to get good mileage or building...
  7. Post your Maverick next to ridiculously large trucks - photos thread

I enjoy the fact that I can see the street ahead through the hitch receiver while sitting fully upright in my own truck. 😆
  8. Interior Cleaning

Absolutely do not wipe the dash display (behind steering wheel) with anything if possible. It has a delicate matte anti-glare coating that is easy to destroy. No cleaners, no soap, no alcohol. Distilled water and microfiber and SPOT clean by dabbing if absolutely necessary.
  9. Interior Cleaning

Yes, don't use them. Use an air duster, fuzzy duster, microfiber cloth, and hand vac for cleaning and leave the products on the shelves unless you have a specific need (removing urine smell, coffee stain in upholstery, etc). The only product I'd use is window cleaner on the windows.
  10. ICE is the future - for Hybrids

I want to point out that the the majority of older vehicles getting 30, 40, 50+ MPG were also generally tiny econoboxes that had a 0 to 60 time of sometime before your kids graduate. The Hybrid Mav will haul an entire dorm room of cargo and will get to 60MPH in 6.7 seconds. The older vehicles...
  11. FORD MOBILE APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED!

This is why OS/2 Warp on my Packard Bell 486DX is used for all my personal online banking transactions. 😏
  12. ICE is the future - for Hybrids

100% of the energy gathered by the HVB comes from the ICE, unless you pushed it up a hill in neutral and rode the brakes down. The car doesn't move itself so the regen braking recaptures ICE power from acceleration instead of wasting it as heat.
  13. Wired Android Auto for maps and bluetooth from another phone for audio.

A bluetooth AM/FM dongle would likely solve this problem too. One person connects to AA (it's a wireless 2.4GHz connection, not a BT connection) and one person connects to the BT dongle with the truck radio set to the FM channel for music.
  14. When do both the Gas and Electric Motors run simultaneously?

One of the two electric motors is also used to turn over the engine, so essentially you have a massively overpowered starter motor. The eCVT is also always meshed so there is no "give" in the system that results in shudders or vibration from gears engaging or clutches slamming around. The...
  15. When do both the Gas and Electric Motors run simultaneously?

There is also an engine icon that turns from very light gray (engine off) to slightly brighter light gray (engine on) that indicates that the ICE is actively running. No I'm not joking, it is ludicrously subtle.
  16. 2027 Kia EV3 start sales at $29,890 in USA

People have died due to the retracting handles not allowing bystanders to open their vehicles, and there have been issues with interior handles as well. An older man in a Corvette couldn't figure out how to exit and ended up suffering heat stroke and dying inside. Door handles are definitely a...
  17. Any noted MPG differences between Maverick Adaptive Cruise, Standard Cruise and Driver Control??

Got 40mpg driving from Southern PA to Ontario Canada using ACC traveling I-81 & CA-401 the entire way. I'm not going to fret too much about 1 MPG as the ACC made it a very pleasant drive.
