Ok. So this is not my Original order! I'm taking an order from someone who no longer wants it. I believe the build date was Oct 1 and it just got to the dealer on Friday. So that may give you a better idea of build to dealer timeline once your truck is actually built.

I had a scheduled built date for 11/8/21 and about 2 weeks ago I got an email that they pushed it out a week to 11/15/21. So far all sounds like it's on track for me.
I had a 10/31 or week of 11/1, and got a 1 week push back, and today got the email pushing it out to 11/15. I figured this was coming with a one week shutdown and the first push back.
Patience is a virtue.
I sometimes show that I have not gotten that one.
Not surprised, but it is okay. This delay is not the end of the world.

From a Ford retiree's perspective.
30 yr. at Ford, always purchased a new Ford.
This process may make it the last one I purchase.
I do not buy that Ford was shocked by the number of orders in general and hybrids they got. Come on the hybrid was the standard offer and $20,000 base price, even the kid at McDonalds can afford one. Not to mention gas prices these days.

Something bigger is looming. At U.S. plants those who are not vaccinated will not be able to work after Jan 4th. This means a lot of Dec. 31st retirements and I can see more parts delays because of it.

I ordered from my local dealer, always have, believe in keeping the local guys in a job. Sure I could have went to a bigger dealership, but the 200 mile round trip didn't make sense to me. I walked in on 6/8 and together we made my reservation, on 6/10 I went back and ordered and gave him $500 deposit. Crickets since.

So schedule or don't schedule makes no difference, I will not take any items off my build, I ordered what I wanted and expect Ford to make good on it.

Those who are attached at the hip to electronic devices seem to think things happen at the snap of a finger or a poke on a screen.
Flash: They don't.
Every new car or totally new model goes through 'teething' as the build process is finely tuned to allow smooth production.
Every car built in the past has been or will be sold. The purple one with the straight-six, three on the tree with the grabber-edition finally sold back when, and every Maverick built in the past(30+ years ago) finally sold too. Patience will win out. FoMoCo WILL build what you ordered, I have no doubt. They built my first new car back in 1974, ordered from a military sales firm and delivered in Dearborn. It took 3-4 months, but it got built. To order. The 'gas shortage' put my order behind all the retail units they could mark up with ADM of the day, but I just waited them out. Was a pretty good car and I was proud to own it.
Keep on truckin'

there will be lots of cancellations and I’m sure some stock units that slipped through. I am tired of seeing all the stock EcoBoosts being picked up. I get cancellations but even than they should call the next guy in line for it.
That only works if someone has the exact same order.

In my case:
1. Confirmation email - 8/9 (Within minutes of order)
2. Scheduled for Production email - 8/12
3. Built email - 10/18 (Build started on 10/14)
4. Shipped email - Still AWOL (Shows as shipped on tracker)

I got the first three, but not #4. It's now been 17 days since my Maverick was actually shipped. It is a mere 121 miles from me, at the rail/truck transfer facility. Dealer told me it could be a couple of days, or weeks away yet.

THIS tracker gives a wealth of info, if you have your VIN and order #!
Scheduled within three days? Holy cow

Why does it have to work like that? What's wrong with contacting the next person waiting on the order list to say, we had a cancelation and want to offer you the truck, it's not exactly like you order, but we know you've been waiting a long time." This gives that person a chance to decide. If they don't want it go to the next person and the list until it's sold. Many on this forum have given up waiting and bought off the dealership lot and nearly every time it's different than what they originally ordered. Chances are very high, based on what people say on this forum that Maverick will be sold, I have no doubt about that. This process would be great for business relations, but not for the dealership profits, if the dealership stuck to the original order price. But no, it's about greed, coupled with poor marketing on Ford's part. A cancelation just another opportunity for a dealership to ADM and make more money instead of more long term customers. I'm not directing my response at you personally, but at the situation overall. I think it's totally wrong that there are so many people who are still waiting for Ecoboost Mavericks and Ford is building trucks for dealerships to sell! Hybrid Mavericks are different right now because the OKTB hasn't been given yet, but once it has Ford will probably do the same thing and build some for dealerships to sell while people are still waiting for theirs!

Only thing I would sacrifice on is color, but I would still have to like it (aka not black or cyber orange). It would also have to be the same price. I'm not going to pay a mark-up just to get it quicker.

When I asked my salesman what my priority code was, he replied with "1". I'm not sure it was totally legit, but that's what I was told.

I see giving orders priority helping both customer relations and profits. Eventually all orders will be filled and anyone that takes a cancellation will have a truck coming in soon the dealer can mark up just the same. I guess at some point the mark ups will come to an end and discounts will begin but that is a ways down the line.

I received am email today that my 15 NOV production has been moved to the end of NOV. Looking forward to an email in a couple of weeks that tells me it has been moved to DEC. I would not stress about not getting a production date because when you do that will not be good information. I really got my hopes up when I got the first email that only resulted in additional frustration. When I talked to the dealer they suggested that I should not expect an actual build for several more months, well into 2022 regardless of the emails I get from Ford. I guess I should be relieved that I keep getting build dates confirming that I am in the system but the reality is it’s just a reminder that I am in the system it’s not really confirmation that the vehicle I ordered is really going to be built when Ford says it will be. I guess a dishonest email is better than no email at all.
