I must say wireless CarPlay connections for me were terrible before the update. Basically everyday issues and so far about a week in with the new software it has connected fast and been basically issue free. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad it worked for you (y)

The process definitely is not as easy or as smooth as it could have been.

I forgot to mention that I had to disable wifi on my phone and just use the cell network (5G in my area) otherwise the update would just sit at 0% on the radio.
Ha! I had tried my wireless network both 2.4 and 5.0 plus my neighbors wifi! Plus I tried to use Walmart and McDonalds wifi. No joy. Finally got the best signal from the neighbors wifi and I was on my way but update was stuck at 0%. I tried this 4 times with no joy.
With the Iphone hotspot I was showing full fan...still needed to do the soft resets to move it on through download...
I am currently either imagining or feeling genuine reality that the radio is performing better as well as Apple Carplay.

Me thinks that there is a loose connector somewhere. You're still under warrantee, follow the instructions and contact a dealer that you trust.

I'm starting to think the wifi in the Maverick is to blame. I was monitoring my router and the Mav 15 feet away was dropping the connection repeatedly. Will have to try the hotspot method next.
I was having issues with the download and took advice from here and moved further away and it actually seemed to help? Went from like 20’ to 50’ away???

Lulz, I trust no dealer. I am significantly more qualified.

There isn't a loose wire either. It's just a shitty system in general.

i had the same screen pop up about 6 months ago. It never re-occurred so I just assume it was a one-off anomaly

It’s not your imagination my CarPlay works much better as well and that’s with a wireless adapter.

Darling wife did her update yesterday. Took an hour, home WiFi, 50 feet from the router, seems fine, radio definitely works better.

It's been a few days of constantly checking for updates and it still fails to find it, any chance the dealer could update it?

I get that every once awhile. I always hit OK and the reverse camera always works like normal. Just software bugs.

The only difference I've noticed after updating my XLT poverty edition SYNC radio is that Andoid Auto takes a lot longer to connect after I connect my phone using USB. Today I had to unplug the cable and plug it back in to get AA to load.

Before, I'd open the door, start the truck then plug my phone in. AA would load by the time I closed my door, put my setbelt on and put the truck into reverse.

I tried several times and was able to download but not install. When I went to the dealer for an oil change on Monday they installed the update for me.

The wi-fi update is a pain. So I downloaded the update from Ford's site (took only a minute), extracted the files to a flash drive and inserted the flash in the USB port in the Maverick. About 10 minutes the install was done including the reboot. It did fix 1 problem...now the info about the radio station shows correctly within 5 seconds.

I did the software update last week with no issues. Initially seemed to fix the jittery backup camera and random audio popping noise. Both started back again this morning pulling out of the driveway. Android auto connectivity seems to be improved still.

Downloading fine over my 18 mbps DSL connection with 2.4ghz wi-fi connection, about 40 ft away in the house. Looks like it'll take ~10 to 15 minutes to DL. We shall see if anything is better/worse after update.

EDIT: Update downloaded fine. I did a reboot with power + skip forward button and the update installed. Verified it was the latest version.
