How to add the new Firmware update to your Maverick

I tried downloading via wi-fi but it was taking way too (20 minutes to download only to 30%...boo). I downloaded the update from Ford's website (took only 1 minute) and extracted the files to a flash drive. I plugged it into the Mav's USB port and took only 10 minutes to update and reboot.

This update did fix one problem for me...now the radio's info on the display on the song/artist updates within 5 seconds instead of taking 45 seconds.

Same here. You would think since it’s firmware that it would not matter if it was hybrid or not.

Are you checking for Sync3? I'm not aware of a way to check a regular Maverick infotainment system for an update on Ford.com.

I had to check by connecting my Maverick to WiFi and checking via the touchscreen.

Same here. You would think since it’s firmware that it would not matter if it was hybrid or not.

It doesn't matter. Only Lariat Lux with Sync3 is different.

I had to check by connecting my Maverick to WiFi and checking via the touchscreen.

Ford.com is only for Sync updates. If you can't update via WiFi as shown in the video linked in the first post of this thread you'll have to go to the dealer.

I could see the new update and was able to download it via WiFi but it would never install for me. I had the dealer install the update when I was in for an oil change.

ETA. The poster who used the thumb drive say's his Maverick is a Lariat Lux in his signature. So Sync3.

OK I had to pull around to back yard to get home Wifi connected would not work on phone hot spot.
Had to enter and exit version/look for update screen a couple of times and It downloaded
I let it sit 2 hours restarted truck and entered update menu and got completed message

Different issue than most posted here. Maverick seemed to download the update like most posted with a few back and forths in the menu and then downloaded to 100%.

My issue is with installing it. I tried many different ways of getting it to trigger but never once got installing update progress bar like shown in the video. After update hits 100% downloaded at most it would be on screen for 5 seconds…normally dropping straight back to the menu. If I hit scan for update again it would then start the download process over again. Once left it running after download finished for 20 minutes running with no progress bar. You would think there would be a better way of getting these to download and install their updates without so much variance.

truck is 2.0 xlt fx4, currently version 19.0.1

truck is 2.0 xlt fx4, currently version 19.0.1

You will probably get in and start sometime today and the truck will just announce it has been installed. That’s what happened to me anyway.
