My hybrid Lariat was built during the first part of March and I picked it up on March 25th. Today, shortly after driving the vehicle, I received my third Deep Sleep Mode message. I have received one each of the previous Saturdays. My call to the service department at the dealer where I purchased the truck (El Cajon Ford) made it clear that Ford has not gotten the message out about the issue. Their advisor said that I just have to make sure I drive the truck at least 20 miles a week and I won't have the problem. When I told him I drive it about 100 miles a week and it is a known problem I was told to bring it in so they could check it out. My reluctance is that I don't want to start at square one so I will take them copies of what I have read from knowledgeable posters. I will post an update after I take it to them on Monday.
Deep Sleep Mode FIXED after 6 weeks!

My new 2022 Hybrid started having an intermittent, "Service Engine Soon" message at 1700 miles, that would turn off after about 10 minutes. It came on a few times every month. Since it turned off right away I didn't think I had an emergency to take it in for service.

Then I started getting a message on my Ford App that said it was in "Deep Sleep Mode". After that I noticed that the Cargo Light wouldn't come on, the Interior Dome Light would not turn on when you open the door in the dark, the dash would immediately turn off Dark when you turn the car off. Things were not right with the Electrical System in my opinion.

I took it to my local dealer, Villa Park Ford in Orange California.

They have given me a loaner, which was yes you will because I bought it from the dealer used with 1700 miles on it. It's my daily driver, paid a lot of money to get it and it is having major problems. So they gave me a loaner and I was happy to let them try to figure out how to fix an issue for all of us.

I got a call 2 weeks after they had my truck and the Service Advisor said, we think it is the BCM, Body Control Module. We should have it fixed by Wednesday. I called my service advisor because he didn't call me at the time he thought my truck would be fixed. He said SOOOORY that was not the fix, they still had the same problem. He said Not Sure what the problem is and we are in contact with FORD Tech Support!

They had my truck for 5 weeks and said they needed to get Ford Engineers involved becuase they couldn't figure it out.

I bought it back for 2 days for the Ford Engineer to take a look at it. He said it might be a programming issue and might take a couple weeks to figure out. I didn't hear back fo a month.

My Service Rep called me shortly after I realized I haven't heard back from them to tell me they have a Fix for the Deep Sleep Mode and Interior lights not working, etc.

They replaced the 12 volt AGM Battery with a new one a said they reprogrammed whatever.

All has been working perfectly for a week now!
Really? 3 loaner cars, 6 weeks, everyones time, for a 12 volt Battery.

I wonder if I could just replace the battery myself with a Costco or aftermarket one.

What is the part number for the Motorcraft battery on your repair order?

I have a similar issue and will just replace it myself, but getting conflicting info on the correct part number.

BTW, there a virtually no aftermarket replacements for the Maverick Hybrid +12v battery.....

(I believe you will find it's not an AGM battery.....)

I was not able to find any after market battery listed for the Maverick Hybrid.
Ford replaced mine with a Ford Motor Company BXT-99RT4-A shown on my paper work.

I don't think it's an AGM battery but the Service Advisor told me it was.

NAPA makes an aftermarket battery for the Maverick Hybrid but it's not AGM, it does at least have a 36 month warranty and is also a 99R like the replacement battery you received from Ford.

Good old NAPA!
Thanks, that's good to know.

Look in manual new battery requires an "up to 8 hour procedure so bcm can learn the particulars of new battery. Procedure has to be done with all accessories off truck locked and undisturbed during this procedure. I am assuming that the bcm charges to 100% so it knows whether it's a flooded, deep cycle, or agm battery.

I have now been able to eliminate the constant deep sleep mode messages. I remembered that my dealer's service department did not follow the instructions in the manual about whet needs to be done when replacing or charging the 12 volt battery. I brought my battery up to full charge with a battery tender, then locked the doors and let the truck sit overnight without being disturbed. I have not received a deep sleep mode message in the five days since doing so. I was previously getting the message soon after I parked after every trip in the truck. It's a shame that some Ford mechanics do not feel the need to even read the manuals for the vehicles they service.

LOL. Give it another day, it will be back.

My ‘no interior lights when opening the doors” situation returned on day 5-6. Locking the doors and sitting all night made virtually no difference in mine after a full charge.

I disabled the deep sleep messaging months ago thinking that the constant comms were drawing the battery down, however that made no difference either

When I took mine in for recalls I brought paperwork for the brake TSB. The service manager said he didn't want the paperwork and couldn't document that I requested it be fixed because they'd get in trouble with Ford Motor Co. Such intense stupidity.

The Fordpass connection over LTE will eat your 12v for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Deep sleep will kick in any time the battery charge drops under 50% charge. I just turned off WIFI and Fordpass in the truck settings, problem went away.
I apologize if this is a redundant question, but, how does one turn off WiFi and Fordpass from within the truck settings? I am have a 3-week old 2023 Hybrid that just last week had a dead battery when left overnight. I jumped it with my portable pack, but now I am fearful of a larger issue at hand.

Under the settings section on the infotainment (8") screen, I turned them off 9 months ago, so I cannot say for sure without looking, but there are settings for disabling those.

* Ford May have removed the WIFI hotspot modem on MY2023 vehicles, you'd have to check your window sticker and the settings.
