Sure but it would probably be a much simpler setup. There would still be cables connecting to the battery.

Can you share what you have for clamps and where you bought these...would be interested in doing the same. Thanks!that's why i carry a couple of tiny clamps
A soldered on terminal end isn't exactly high engineering. Point being this could just as easily have been a fault shared by the other or both powertrains.Sure but it would probably be a much simpler setup.
I took my hybrid Xl in for the recall,at the same time I told them to check the battery and mention the deep sleep issue. There is a good chance that they won't like it when the customer knows more about the vehicle than they do.
I mean, it's job to know, but there's a lot of 9 to 5 type employees that couldn't care less.
I have had my hybrid at the dealer 3 times recently due to deep sleep messages. The first time they tested the 12 volt battery and said that it was not charging completely. They asked me to bring it in after they talked to the Ford Hotline. When I took it back they did more testing that Ford recommended and said that it seemed to be testing okay. After that visit the "deep sleep" messages increased in frequency. The dealer had me bring it back and leave it for 2 days to see if they could replicate the messages, which they did. The dealer then reported that Ford had replied to their text that they wanted the dealer to do seven hours worth of "dismantling" and re-testing. The specifics of this "dismantling" were not given to me because the tech had gone home. The service advisor said the tech wanted to confirm verbally with Ford before proceeding with that extent of labor. I am now receiving the "deep sleep" message every time I drive the vehicle, regardless of the distance, about 30 minutes after the drive is completed. When I shared with the service advisor the "fixes" I had seen on this forum he said that they can only do what Ford tells them to do.
At no time during this process has the vehicle failed to start or presented any problem other than the messages. I now have about 3000 miles on the truck, which I am otherwise extremely happy with. I did purchase a jumper battery that I carry in case s... happens.
I am curious about whether your driving habits are like mine. Most of my trips are less than 10 miles round trip and there are one or two days per week that I don't drive the Maverick at all.Exact same thing happening daily since September 25th!!! Hybrid Lariat built Feb 20th with 3600 miles.
Since delivery, the majority of the trips have been in town (5 miles roundtrip) and it could sit 1-3 days not driven. 2-3 times each month did a 60 mile round trip. 700 mile trip in May. Never got DSM message. While on vacation, the vehicle was not driven for a 23 day period in June. The DSM message appeared after the first eight days vacation. It started right up after returning on day 23. August and September have been driving 60 mile (round trip) freeway trips a couple of times per week. Like we have done since delivery, did an in town <5mile trip 9/22. Vehicle not driven 9/23-24.I am curious about whether your driving habits are like mine.
