Gotta be honest, as a disabled veteran it's sad that you choose to make judgements on retired vets and what they have done in their careers. Ford's program is what it is, accept it and move on or buy another brand.
I can assure you it's a real problem. Will it be a noticeable issue for everyone? No, it depends on a lot of variables but it will degrade performance, fuel mileage and could potentially cause running issues like misfires. I don't really understand why people think this is a myth. I have...
150k on the 6F35 in my Escape doing 30k intervals and that trans was known to fail as well. It operated like new when I sold it at 150k miles. It's ridiculous to believe Ford's maintenance interval of 150k miles.
Nope this has happened for other people. These BCMs are programmed to work with a variety of models to include overseas products that do offer a manual. It's kinda scary that the programming logic of the BCM can get so wonky that it doesn't even know what it's programmed (via as built data) to...
Not really sure what to tell you, if I still had my Mav I would make a video. It's similar to the video above, you need a decent amount of pressure on the corner outwards towards you and it will pop off. That's the easy part, getting the actual mirror cap off is 10 times more difficult.
Not sure, to be honest Ford uses the absolute cheapest suppliers for a lot of their parts so some parts unfortunately are just not made well. I replaced the blend door actuator on my sister in law's explorer multiple times. Her back up camera also failed due to water intrusion but she was...
Make sure the whatever you buy they are rated for the Mav's required 150 lb-ft of torque. There are a lot of lugnuts sold on Amazon for instance in the required M14x1.5 size that aren't rated for nearly that value.
I also ran the AT3Ws on my Mav and they were super quiet, no noticeable road noise. I then ran the Kumho Roadventure AT2 tires and there was very minor road noise, now I am running Toyo Open Country ATIII tires on my GX and they are super loud compared to both. The Wildpeak AT3W was a winner...
You will regret using the one time undercoating, it will trap moisture and actually cause worse conditions. Just use the stuff that needs to be reapplied every year or two. I did mine DIY with Blaster Surface Shield that only needs to be done every two years, my Mav's underbody still looked...
Just use a screwdriver and a towel. The glass just pops off when you use the screwdriver. I used a towel to keep the screwdriver from scratching the outer plastic. The glass pops off pretty easily just be prepared for it to fall.
You don't have to remove the whole mirror. You pop the mirror glass off then you can remove I think 4 screws then you need to use something like a pick to carefully undo all the plastic latches holding the mirror cap on. It's kind of frustrating but if you're patient and gentle eventually it'll...
Ford is notorious for having water intrusion into their rear cameras causing failure. I never had it happen to my escape but a lot of others did and I know it's very common on the Edge and Explorer too
We can do PayPal. I can send you an invoice. Just give me a few days if you don't mind, I just moved to Kansas City from the DC area and I'm still unpacking.
