20 sec. has to lapse before the alarm is actually armed. I'm testing it now.

I tried opening the door immediately after setting the alarm and nothing happened.
This video is after the truck sat for a little more than 20 seconds.
So according to Google, only way to set alarm is the fob “key “in door, not buttons on fob or app? Maybe imma goin out in the sleet to check it out. 🙄

No - alarm is only set when Fob lock is used.
Wonder what happens when you arm it, but the slow kid takes longer than 20 seconds to close that last door?

Glenn?

Arming the Anti-Theft Alarm System

The alarm is ready to arm when you switch your vehicle off.
Lock your vehicle with your remote control to arm the alarm.

I left the key fob on the dash to show that I wasn't activating the alarm. (I try to make honest videos.)
I will make another video and post. Showing whether or or not locking the Maverick with the keypad also arms the alarm.

In an earlier post I made a video showing that unlocking the door with the physical key will also set off the alarm.

The alarm arms itself 20 seconds after the last door is closed.
With the tailgate or door open. I can set the alarm with the key fob and keep any of those doors open until the last one closes and then it arms itself.
I hope that makes sense.

Locking the truck with the door mounted wired keypad.

A few moments later 🕧

The alarm does not sound off immediately it gives you the countdown tones before the horn sounds. The same as it does when you use the physical KEY to unlock the door.

Here's my 2025 Lariat Hybrid running for +10 mins without locking the door. I will never get the "engine is still running" messages if the key never leaves the car.

Oh good - because the manual doesn't give a time, but it says lock it with the fob to arm it.

And you can close the doors after doing lock all on the fob.

Seems the 25MY differs on trim perhaps. Good grief.

You are correct. The truck is completely locked with one button press. I thought the second press had something to do with anti-theft, but I can't find it in the manual.
The second lock button press turns off the courtesy lights (when you get to porch and don't need the light to see the sidewalk). It also turns off the inside lights before the delay timer runs out along with the dash and radio screen. It lets the truck know you are not going to need the truck for awhile. It also responds to the lock request by honking once if all doors were completely closed and hood is completely shut. It will respond with two honks if truck cannot be locked. The dash power point and bed power point will NOT BE SHUT OFF EARLY IF THEY ARE IN USE. Probably some other things. You can with the keyless entry disable the thirty minute max idle get out of truck in park with brake set and truck in ready state with AC on locking truck with door shut while within 2-3 feet and truck will stay cool or hot cycling ice until you return.

🤔 My '23 automatically UNLOCKS the drivers door if the truck is running and I try to lock the door when exiting.

Not saying your truck isn't possessed, Lord knows they all seem to do some weird stuff.

Possibly another instance of depressing the MANUAL lock lever when opening the door? This has been mentioned here - seemingly to many times to count - next time it happens check the other doors. They MAY not be locked.

The search function is always looking for something to do....
I thought I had found an option and programmed my 2025 XL 2.0 to lock the doors automatically when I got out and walked away with the fob. It seemed to do that successfully for about 2 days, then stopped. Now it seems to do it once in a while, on a whim...

🤔🤔 Really Interesting.
That's something I would like to see.
The programming for that function doesn't exist on the Maverick, even using Forscan.

Find that option and report it!

Posters have been asking for it for awhile now.
