This fix was done at the Ford dealership yesterday while they chased an engine check code that occurred after I picked up the truck at the body shop. Code turned out to be an apparently false alarm.
So you think I should take this up directly with my insurer, rather than with the body shop when I take it back in for the steering wheel centering (which will no doubt require toe adjustment)? I will at least need to wait to see what the measurements are after that adjustment.
I'd like to know that also, because some of those numbers, particularly the front caster, are a mismatch with what I found on-line. Does anyone have a link to any official Ford pages that show these specs?
I found this here on a post form 2023, but don't knw if the specs are still valid for my...
Well, the Ford dealership service dept ran 8 tests that all came up negative, so it was either a spurious code or the issue is intermittent. Light is out for now, I will keep a close eye on it and use my new OBDCII tool if it shows again. I think they must take engine ceck codes seriously, I...
I just picked up my truck from the shop after they repaired damage from someone hitting my driver's door. The truck has only 2,000 miles on it. My insurer guarantees repairs by this shop, so I need to determine whether or not those repairs are acceptable. The steering wheel was not properly...
I have roughly 2,000 miles on my 2025 XL Ecoboost 2.0 AWD w/4k tow pkg that I bought new in early December. I did get the oil changed to full synthetic at 1,500 miles. Reported MPG has steadily risen over that period. Currently consistently reporting 30 - 32 MPG. This is mixed driving, but 80%...
Looks like the timing was coincidental - Ford app shows it as an exhaust pressure sensor issue. Fortunately, the scanner was just $35 and it was already on my wish list, so that is not a problem.
The fault was actually shown and diagnosed in the Ford app. Sorry, should have checked that before posting, but I'm not yet used to this level of automation. According to that app:
"What Is Happening?
The powertrain control system has detected an electrical fault with one of the exhaust...
My truck was in the shop for repairs for over a month after someone slammed into my driver's door. I picked it up today. After I pulled out, I noticed that the tank was very nearly empty. I also quickly noticed that the CHK light to the right of the fuel gauge was on solid. When I got home, I...

Yeah, I did that an hour ago. Told me it's available as OTA, but not done. My truck has been in the body shop for over a month, so it's possible it has been blocked off from signal and no OTA for that reason. Hopefully it happens when I get it back in a few more days, otherwise I'mm need to...
I am always cautious to the point of paranoia when driving with a trailer, although on occasion in the past my pre-planning has left something t be desired. Thanks for your help.
Interesting. The Rival site seems to be showing spotty availability to past 5/31. I'm leaving for Virginia at about that time, so it doesn't look like I'd likely be able to get it installed before then. I'll need to be *very* careful, but should be OK...
P. S. how was the rivnut quaility...
Thank you. I amended my post with the truck specs, but you had already replied :-) I think I have a hitch with that magnitude of drop, if not, I'll pick one up. I have some hairpins and switchbacks on VA 42 S of New Castle going to the property, so it is also good to know your rig handled those...
I'm glad I found your post. I plan to tow a U-Haul 5 x 8 cargo trailer about 450 miles down I-81 and into the Virginia mountains West of Blacksburg/Christiansburg in late May or early June. It will probably be loaded with about 300 lbs net. The driveway at the end of that trip is about 1/8 mile...
My truck is in the body shop for repair (for over a month) after someone clobbered me, which is a separate thread if I choose to tell the story. When I took it in on April 6, the shop ran the VIN and told me there was a very recent recall and update for trailer lights becoming inoperable (2025...
I just installed a Vevor aluminum ladder rack on my 2025 XL 2.0. The rack itself seems plenty sturdy, but it attaches to the bed rails with conventional camper-type clamps, and I'm not very happy with the way they work on the Maverick bed; they just don't fit quite correctly on the rails. I have...
You are diligent. But I seriously doubt that an oil change proactively done at 1,350 miles to get rid of any metal chips or shavings is going to be visible on the dipstick (I did check to confirm the correct oil level). May I also ask what your reply has to do with the question I asked about...
