Lots of reasons to get it - including this large conventional spare tire!

4k was mandatory for me. I've always gotten the tow package/heavy duty towing just for the extra cooling capabilities. And with the Mav throwing in the brake controller and the 7pin connector made it a no-brainer for me. I always thought that Ford underpriced the 4k package for what you get (compare do other options like $200 for mats), and that the BAP is overpriced.

A whole bunch better than a can of Fix-A-Flat or Mini-Donut spare..

For those of you who have it, is it worth it even if you don't tow?
Oh I will 💯 never tow. I am strongly considering getting an AWD hybrid and just deciding on if I need to get it with Copilot 360 on it
Thank you for this post. It's been a real headache working with the dealerships on pricing and packages. I keep hopping between EB and Hybrid and package vs no package.

The luxury package seems like but I could care less about heated seats or remote start. The only nice thing is the upgraded steering wheel but I can buy a aftermarket steering wheel cover.

4k towing keeps being mentioned as a "must have" and the only reason I am considering it is for the extra cooling, if it matters. I will never tow anything. This truck is strictly for throwing stuff in the back when needed and commuting everywhere. I work remotely, so I don't even drive to work.

Co-op 360 - again one of those nice to haves. The blind spot monitors would be nice I guess, but I've driven 24 years without them and have been fine.

It's just a tough decision. I'm getting otd prices for XLT Hybrid AWD models with 4k towing and co-op 360 for around 39k. Not sure if that's good or bad or if I should just save a few thousand and nix them both.
I got a question. Why do you ask for someone's opinion then do not consider it? Even going to the extent of discounting someone's shared information?

And no you cannot say for 100% you will not use it, unless you have a crystal ball. Life changes sorry but that's part of living. Take a good look at several threads and posts in the past on this site. Several asking to add components to be able to tow over 2k, several more upgrading to another vehicle because their circumstances have changed.

Okay I'm not saying yours will change I am saying it's better to be prepared if it does. Several posts also suggest resale value which can be possible. Some posts express the extra equipment including in the package and there benefits. It boils down to what you are willing to spend to meet your needs. Just be prepared now if those needs could be increased tomorrow. I would rather spend a few hundred now rather than thousands or a new vehicle later, but that's me.

It reads like you are even having a problem deciding between the 2.0 and the Hybrid. If you work at home and the truck sits a week or two your probably better off with the 2.0. Don't know if you have been looking into but the hybrid has been known to go to sleep. If your driving in the city then definitely the hybrid but get a battery maintainer and remember to hook it up.
Myself I live in rural N MI and a half hour commute to a city for groceries and it sits being retired so the 2.0. Besides I like having the extra HP and Torque for passing or off road. In any case Ford sells a lot of Maverick without the 4k tow package. Me I'm like several posts it's a no brainer, besides I own several trailers and went from f150 to the Maverick.

Good luck reads like you got a lot of decisions to make. Just stop dissing posts you disagree with. All they did was try to answer your original post.

And that should be noted BUT I am certainly glad Ford added the full size to the towing package. Since I will be towing, towing with a donut isn't encouraging and being left on the side of the road with the inflator and a trailer is no fun either.

I got mine without any tow package. The 2k stuff can be added economically later if I need it to.

Here was my logic at the time of ordering (fall 2022):

Situation
- My current ride is dying fast
- Ford has released stuff about supply constraints for the hitch
- Ford stated that not all MY23 hybrid orders will be filled
- The previously constrained bed liner now had a option that combined the bed rails with it for the same price

Use case
- I will use this mainly for commuting, so MPG is a priority.
- If I ever do use this for towing it would be a u haul trailer or something that the 2k limit would work
- I will have the kids in back frequently
- This is not going to be the long road trip vehicle
- Furniture transporting, dump runs, recycling center runs, DIY home improvement stuff

Order
I got an XLT EB FWD. I wanted the hybrid, but any fuel savings would be wiped out by Ford's pricing changes and having to put more $ into my current ride as I waited for MY24. I did not get the co pilot package. That adds a lot of complexity that I generally will not use on the two lane 55mph roads i will be driving on. The XLT package was worth it as it had features that were going to be used extensively.

The power adjustable mirrors especially as my wife is a good bit shorter than me and having to reach out and move those would be a mjor drag. It would encourage trying to work with as they are which is not the safest idea.

The cruise control is definitely something I use daily.

The rear arm rest with cupholders is something my kids use every time they are back there.

The wheels and interior are a nice bonus. I like the orange.

The bed liner and rails package was a no brainer as having movable tie down points is great for transporting irregular shaped furniture. Marketplace stuff is generally preassembled/used. It might not come back together if completely disassembled. So, you gotta move it as is.

Result
- 48K miles later I get 32 MPG.
- Have not once needed to tow.
- Despite hot Atlanta summers, most of the time the active aero shutters are closed on my drive so the cooling is more than sufficient.

It would be a waste of money imo if I never towed. I know it has an upgraded cooling system but if never towing even that's not needed. I tow a 3000 boat with our mav.

2025 Hybrid XL AWD owner here.

i specifically was looking for a hybrid AWD with 4K tow, the only thing I was willing to compromise on is color (got lucky, green is my favorite color).

IMHO modern cooling systems when it comes to things like transmissions are barely adequate. I don't ever plan on towing but I live in the high desert plateau and wanted the extra mechanical capabilities of the 4K tow along with the mandatory inclusion of lane centering and blind spot monitoring. I always say if a manufacturer gives you the option to upgrade the greasy bits, take it! So many vehicles currently give no options to choose mechanical upgrades beyond what the factory gives you.

I also did this because I plan on keeping the truck for a long long time.

I didn't diss anyone. If you are referring to my 4k post about must haves, that was a general observation that I've been reading online. I didn't once target or discount anyone's opinion on this forum. You came off pretty aggressive here, so I'm going to ignore you but thanks.

That's a great Maverick build and costs 60 cents on the dollar to what others "need". I bet you haven't been limited at all over 50,000 miles with just FWD. You go everywhere they do without issue and so do I. It's a wonder we made it this far, lol.

Nobody can touch the value of our FWD builds. We're basically printing money as we drive (in the form of low depreciation) while others boast about their gas mileage in a Hybrid Lariat will all the options.

I am interested in the 4K towing package, I want to buy a 17 foot Casita camper. The dry weight is 2,780 lbs., all options. Hitch weight 280 lbs. I believe the time you load it up that's gling to be close to the max. Any thoughts?

The FX4 and Tremor can definitely get to places that mine cannot and the 4K can tow things that mine cannot. If you use those features regularly, then you will find value in them.

Personally, the FWD hybrid with the hitch would have been the best fit for me. The factory hitch is much cheaper than aftermarket and the hybrid is definitely more efficient and also keeps the A/C on during the stop/start (hot Atlanta summers). If Ford's supply constraints were not present, that's what I would have gotten. Key thing to note is that for MY23 the hybrid was the same cost as the EB. It's actually what I initially ordered in September, but after Ford's memo...

I changed and got scheduled on the next go round. I picked up the truck just before easter '23. Just under $30k out the door.

I have it on 25 hybrid along w AWD- I dont tow often but wanted the flex to be able to once in a while and beefed up components/eCVT, resale (maybe) - paid off when I bought a 4k boat/trailer- again not going to use it much but allowed me to transport it after purchase, probably once a year or 2 for service, who knows. Now I am considering renting a small camper for a family meet up- again I dont anticipate doing much of this - but I can...... - note that 4k is not a lot but o course more than the 2k std, I would like 5k and maybe an extra foot in the bed but that requires going into Ranger territory and less mpg for daily use, so no for now.... we will see what the 27/28 EV version does as well as Scout and others coming down the road if I ever truely need that.
