Ain't this the truth. I ordered my Maverick without a sunroof, a first for me since every other vehicle I've had either had one or was a convertible. I'm already feeling anxiety over not getting it, even though I rarely ever open them on my existing vehicles! Oh well, I'm not re-ordering, so maybe next time.
I believe no sunroof equals more headroom. I’d rather have the headroom.

I probably would have been happier with an XL if there were any to be had over $1K cheaper than the XLT from Granger, budgeting around $700-800 to get some alloy wheels installed from Discount Tire. Would have been nice to have the steel wheels in reserve if I move and need dedicated winter tires too. Base model XL vs. XLT I think the only difference besides wheels is the seat color stitching and and the fold down armrest in the rear? Those two items barely move the needle for me.

I got the XL luxury package. My XL includes AC/cruise/power mirrors, blind spot, hitch :sneaky:
Steel wheels are awesome. Most things I've driven were on steel and field weighted.

Not into steel wheels but also not against them... if I had a vehicle with steel wheels those would become my snow tire wheels and id get a set of nice looking wheels for non winter times. Last thing I had with steelies was a 1969 RoadRunner

not since finding these forums, mine is a 22, so it came with no cruise control.
added locking tailgate, got a leather steering wheel coded for cruise control and a few other forscan tweaks, got some different wheels and lowered it.

I don't regret my xl at all. I work for Ford so I got it for employee price. I do miss the sync system from my 21 Mustang.
But over all its my daily commuter and it serves its purpose. And if I want to drive something nicer I have a GMC Sierra that has all the bells and whistles. Its basically a luxury car with a 6.5 ft bed that could tow three mavericks.
Yes I work for Ford but have always been a GM guy. But overall I do love the Mav. Now that Mustang... that was a turd.

Best thread ever. OP has a sense of humor. Now, if we can only merge this with the "Anybody regret buying a Lariat" thread, we can have another amusing civil war on MTC.
Well we are up to page 7. And no "Shell-fire" yet.. 🤪

Wow, are those really all features that the XLT has, but the XL doesn't?

Have to admit I test drove an XL locally and liked it, but the pricing was all wrong, so just I just grabbed the XLT in Iowa that was actually cheaper without any haggling. I use the tie downs frequently, and I guess I would rather have the gate lock instead of not have, even though someone could through the toneau with a box cutter.

Also, what's the 2K trailer hitch on there? Mine does not have a trailer hitch or a connector, but I admit towing was only a well, maybe a light utility down the road consideration.

I guess useful info for anyone on the fence between the XL or XLT.

No, I think most folks get it. I ended up with a Lariat, but I initially wanted an XL. For all those frugally smart reasons and to appear that way too. Then, Ford did not deliver mine. While waiting, on this forum, I learned all the positive aspects, features and safety features of the (by then) loaded Lariat. I understand both the XL people and the Lariat people no civil war here. Now the XLT folks......

Had 2024 XL Ecoboost for a year now. As daily driver I love it. Occasionally wish I had some extras like powered wing mirrors or lane keeping technology when on long road trips. However the auto headlights on XL and collision alert sensor are still good features for a budget level trim. I bought mabbett seat covers, steering wheel cover, bed cover, floor mats.

Overall there are times I wish I had gone for Lariat but then I would probably have bought a different truck such as a Colorado or Tacoma whereas the 24 XL AWD was all I could afford and was a good deal at this time last year.

So far no issues at all after 10,000 miles and being a reasonable rough driver.

January of 2024 I bought an XL, 1st Maverick and that is what I could afford at the time. It was a good truck, I did not regret it, but the more I saw all the features on the Lariat the more I wanted it and saved up some money for down payment and got a Lariat in August 2024 and don't regret that either. I loved both Mavericks, and love the bells and whistles of the Lariat very much. Before the 1st Maverick I had remote start on key fob, push button start, and SiriusXM built in. I did miss having all those options and may have been a contributing factor to trading up to a Lariat.

I came from a S10 with crank windows and manual door locks and no working A/C. The driver's door lock was broken on the inside so I had to lock the door from the outside with the key. The feature level of the XL is like a spaceship to me. The idea that I would be bothered by having to put the key in the ignition or not have the truck drive for me is unfathomable. I would rather it had fewer features and they all just worked all of the time. I'd prefer the truck wouldn't decide to not turn the interior lights on when I open the door if it's been parked for more than 5 days, for example. Just turn the light on when the door opens and don't throw a hissy fit if I open my door with the engine running. Basically just work and don't get in my way.
