Hahahaha! My first real job, while in high school, was as an auto parts delivery driver, in a mid-60's Econoline/Falcon van, with the engine between the seats.

I debated it..I was like all I really need are the "basic" amenities. My first truck even was a 1995(first model year 1st off the dealer lot) Toyota Tacoma it was the 5 speed stripper model... basic am/fm and cassette, no AC roll down windows, it was a 4x4 with you lockem hubs. All I ever added was a bed liner and soft tonneau cover.

I sat this because I was fine with that truck..going back to the XL vs higher range models..So I said would I me ok with that.. at first I was like..yeah why not and save.. then the more I thought about it.. I found I wanted and liked stuff like AC/Cruise/Blind spot monitor.. so in the long run I ended up in the XLT... I didnt need anything the Lariat had.. The ONLY thing I currently wish my XLT had and doesnt was the tow package(or at least a hitch..thats a must im gonna have to get one) and again while not a deal breaker a electric rear window woulda been nice..

So no id rather have the XLT in my old age... learning from having the "stripper" model in the past...I realize ive become more accustomed to a few things and like those in a vehicle..I by no means need garbage like that ACC, lane keeping/centering(turned off on al that have had it including the maverick), Sun roofs(mine has but I would like if it didnt but again not a deal breaker..just something else to break and that i seldom lose)
Had a sunroof on our Avalon and have one on our Highlander. Never used either. Don’t have one on our Lariat and won’t miss having it. Total waste of money imo

By the way I forgot to add my 2024 XL is a hybrid. Everything works fine and I have almost 14,000 miles on it. All the new vehicles have so many safety features it's sometimes confusing for an old fogey like me. My Rangers all had crank windows, manual transmission, now it's so different but c'est la vie.

I love my 2024 XL. I’ve been buying Mods. since before I got it. I’ve basically got a fast XLT now. Not planing on stopping anytime soon.

Given that it's pretty much an auto parts delivery truck?
Got my 23 Eco Xl with CP 360 2 years ago for $20,500 with my $2750 special offer discount. Probably spent 1200 on some mods. Not so sure it looks like a parts delivery truck though. I like it

agreed 100% it didnt break the deal with the XLT but it is something personally id never want or pay for to get as far as saying man I NEED that sunroof.. just something else to break and or go wrong IMO.
