Major Red Flags
The Trademark: The rights to the "REO" name for commercial trucks are owned by the Volvo Group. It is highly unlikely that a legitimate, well-funded startup would launch using a name that invites an immediate trademark lawsuit from an automotive giant.

That's pretty cool for classic cars which warrant the $9,500 starting cost for the body.
Don't know if this was in reference to remanufacturing cars, but my thought was basically an old auto factory converted into a facility to remanufacturer decent quality used cars. Cars bought for under $5K...
I've thought for awhile that at some point there will probably be an industry of remanufacturing entire cars from the "golden era" (~late 90s to mid 2010s), but there's probably not enough of them not totally rusted or clapped out to make it worth it. There is a parts problem there too in that...
It's been getting more difficult for independent repair shops to fix cars for quite some time now. Very interesting to follow a channel like Royalty Auto or Car Care Nut (extremely good mechanics) and see all the tools they need to work on cars now with 10,000 modules, many of which are being...
Pennzoil and Quaker State have both been owned by SOPUS (shell oil products) for some time now. Last time I read into it, Quaker State is basically just the same product as Pennzoil Platinum, but the base oil comes from petroleum instead of natural gas, and sells at a slightly lower price point...
The PG241EX filters were like $4.25 each on rockauto when I bought them in bulk with some other filters and windshield wipers. The OE Motorcraft filters made by Wix / MH are good filters, but if you dig into this Premium Guard company a bit, the filters they are making are actually really...
You have to go out of your way to find a bad motor oil these days. Valvoline is probably the best brand though, particularly the restore and protect product for high mileage engines, but not many Maverick owners are in that range. Pennzoil Platinum is also consider slightly better than the...
I grew up in a town with a population of around 2,000. When Casey's came into town in the early 90's, we had a local pizza place with an arcade and a really good local bakery. Pizza place closed down within a year if I remember, and the bakery lasted a decade (don't know if their demise was...
Big one for sure. I wish Sam's Club would do top tier like Costco, but I buy fuel there probably 75% of the time because it's has to be the highest turnover pump in town, and it's usually $0.20-$0.40 cheaper than the other stations.
My no science opinion living in the midwest is there is...
I've had the Pirelli Scorpion AS3's for about 15,000 miles now and am still liking them. I didn't think the OE Conti TX was that bad, but the AS3's are basically just 1 better in steering, ride comfort and noise. Hydroplaning resistance is also excellent. We didn't really get enough snow in...
Ford supposedly fixed it with an updated P/N, although even the crummy ones on the Maverick that last 20-50k miles are a lot better than aftermarket axles in my experience.
It's not 1:1 since Honda and Toyota both use very high quality axles that are notorious for not liking aftermarket or...
Aftermarket CV axles are worse than the OE ones, although it's not unheard of for a dealer to use aftermarket parts.
Waiting months for parts sucks for the OP, and I can hardly believe Ford doesn't have this part stocked up given the high failure rate + hundreds of thousands of vehicles on the...
In a 500 mile radius of my zip there are 5 Tacoma's under 35K, and I promise there are mandatory dealer add-ons not in the listing (i.e. no sale w/o some crummy paint protection package and / or alarm) that pushes the price up thousands.
Big reason I ended up in this vehicle was Toyota dealer...
I don't see Toyota making a serious effort on it, and it's going to cost a lot more than the Maverick. I think relatively inexpensive, reliable, and practical hybrids solve a lot of problems we have in the car market though, so more competition is good.
XL FWD hybrid for me. It's what I wanted to start but it would have had to go a lot further to get one at a decent price. I think I would probably also just leave the steelies on it now too.
Doesn't matter if you buy the cheapest XL or whatever the most expensive possible config is now, it's...
Zero chance they did that.
As others have mentioned, the stated interval is 120K miles, which Ford at least publishes one rather than the frequent "sealed for life" garbage most manufacturers state now (aka we don't care after the warranty). The eCVT is more like a manual gear box internally...
Insurance has gone up dramatically the past 5 years along with the cost of repairing cars, plus it's just sky high always in states like Florida and Texas with terrible drivers and lots of insurance fraud.
I was thrilled to get a re-quote from Progressive for $340 for 6 months with $1k...
For those that want to skip the math, it's effectively 8% back on eligible ford services, 3% back at grocery, restaurants, and gas stations, 1% on everything else. $175 welcome bonus ($100 + $75 in points). I guess the question is without reading all the fine print, can you redeem rewards for...
The back window of the cab is considerably more expensive, probably the most expensive piece of glass on the vehicle. I broke out the rear passenger window, which was like ~$350 for aftermarket, $450 for OE Ford glass if I recall. Still not cheap though. I think my Prius C rear passenger window...
