Thing is most people correcting him or her were polite about it. It's fine to be wrong. Really not a big deal at all. It's just sad OP is unable to admit it.

I'm no mechanic... But when I google search glowing catalytic convert glowing red, (it causes the honeycomb material to melt which may cause damage to the engine.) It's not supposed to glow red. Dealers should at least test pressure to ensure there was no damage to the cat. Can a mechanic chime in?

I'm guessing this happened when I remote started. Got an appointment with my dealer 4 weeks from now. I'm hearing Ford is doing nothing about it. I bought a brand new vehicle. Ford fix your s***

Edit: The shield could be like this from the factory, I apologize for that. However, the glowing cat is still a problem Ford should fix. Not just send a software update to not cause it but also fix any damages already caused.

I seen in the owners manual if you hold the start button too long on the remote start it can damage the catalytic converter.

Well, here's mine. ~400 miles and no remote starts or cold weather (until tomorrow).
It looks conformal to me, not "melted".

If the CAT was hot enough to "melt" the shield then wouldn't the shield be noticably discolored? The shield pictured doesn't seem discolored to me.
