Catalytic converter theft

So, I have been following some of the threads on catalytic converters and still a bit confused. There was a video posted on YT this week of a Maverick that got their cat taken. But I've also seen many here posting that it is quite difficult because of the way it is tucked up into the engine compartment. Some have also mentioned that there is more than one cat on the Maverick. I'm not sure if this is a Hybrid - I am not sure if there is a way to tell from the front.

I'm thinking about etching mine with the VIN - I know nothing can prevent a determined person from taking it, but that's better than nothing, I guess.
