Where are these videos you are referring to? I am very interested in seeing a Tremored Maverick holding its own with a full framed, mechanical dif. locking, greater clearanced 4x4.There are many videos now that show the standard or FX/4 Mav doing very well or at least acceptable against Tacos, Colorados and the like. The Tremor will bring it's A game.
Driving sports TV (youtube) has about 8 or so well produced and detailed videos taking the Maverick off road. A couple of them are head to heads with Outback wilderness and the other against a Tacoma(forgot the trim but it was the highest off road spec).Where are these videos you are referring to? Check out this one. It's old but I watched it again tonight to show it to the wife. A good all around comparison of the Maverick FX/4 versus a Taco TRD Pro with all the toys. Plus they discuss mpg, road handling and road manners. In XLT Lux trim we're talking $20,000 difference in price.Where are these videos you are referring to? Trying to get one of those Tacoma's at MSRP is probably harder than a maverick.Check out this one. It's old but I watched it again tonight to show it to the wife. I did sections 1 and 2 of the WA BDR, so the same exact terrain as in the video. It was about 270 miles from the Columbia River to Ellensburg, WA.Check out this one. Ready lift is 300 rough country is 200 for 1 5 or 2 5 inches. Ready lift is way better quality parts. So gaining a inch puts it in the subaru crosstrek territory it has 9.3 inches maverik 8.5 so 9.5 tremor. The question is the dual clutch worth it or not fx4 with better tires dint lose traction going up really rough stuff. Going up steep hills with lose pea gravel it made it up tires mattered alot more. It's doing what a 4 low can do I was impressed by it.Gotta be a realistic. We bought Mavericks because we are somewhat frugal, right ?
$4,500 for an extra inch of clearance, a new front plate and a few orange accents seems pretty steep to me.
Ok 93 mazda and 2016 f150 both did this hill in 4 low it's the first hill in the video and drone shot going down it loose rock couldn't walk up it would roll back down the hill. Scorpions tires couldn't do.it toyo at 3 did it just fineWhere are these videos you are referring to? Agreed most people want to do this . If you want extreme off roading buy a jeep or bronco etc and mod it out .Most people can’t afford that so , the maverick off roading experience is hot seller . That’s why ford made this package . Wish they made ST first 🥲I did sections 1 and 2 of the WA BDR, so the same exact terrain as in the video. The Maverick handled it effortlessly. The AWD system is simply sublime.
It absolutely is not as capable of a truck as a body on frame, but that generally doesn't matter a whole lot if all you're looking to do is get away from the crowds and explore forest service roads.
Couple shots from my trip....
This is what I’m ordering , trading my lariat lux fxPricing out what I plan to order (Lariat, Lux, Tremor, Moonroof) it'll be right at 40k. I can't see the market bearing out a profit as interest rates rise after taxes, registration, etc.
I've got a winch ready for my FX4 (when it arrives)! Also if you take out the spare I think we can put a winch under the Mavericks bed better than the Bronco Sport.
