When was your house/garage or car broken into?

Here in the wonderful city of Columbus, OH (I now live in a NW suburb) it is a rite of passage to have your vehicle broken into. Which time do you want details on? The best was when I left it unlocked and found a homeless person sleeping in it....

Same house - I was taking a nap in my living room (can see the front door) when someone broke the stained glass next to the front door and was reaching in to unlock the door when I started to yell at them....

All that said I'm not sure why you asked me that question because my response was that I'm not worried about someone getting my garage door opener or breaking into my house because I would get alerted to someone being at my house and would notify my local PD who has nothing to do and would be rearing to respond to a break in in progress.

We install several in a week, never have issues at all. We do use them on alarm.com tho. Maybe the wifi. Only issue we had was if you mounted the gateway too close to the opener, it would work intermittently , so I just put the gateway on the wall by a electrical plug and where the strobe will be seen. You may have interference from cheap LED bulbs in your opener. Here is a sheet from chamberlain

The previous was with the gateway and after having it randomly open in the middle of the night I just don't trust MyQ.
If it decides to open at 3am again all it would take is some druggy walking down the alley to cost me thousands in stolen tools.

I hadn't even thought about Airport parking lot you got the opener you have the people's address you know that they're going to be gone for a while perfect opportunity.

I have found a very easy upgrade to add a garage door opener to the Maverick. It’s actually a garage door remote designed for the Polaris Slingshot. Here is a link to sling mods of you are interested.

This solution does not require disassembly, cutting, engineering, or anything that may void warranty. All that is required, like any garage door remote, is programming. Mounting is done with 3M tape. All necessary instructions are included.

No offense but it looks like a mismatch part. Doesn't fit in IMO. If I'm just going to slap something on I may as well just put 2 way tape on the back of my chamberlain remote and stick it to an empty space on the dash.

That said... there's no need for me. My remote fits EXACTLY into the bottom of the cubby next to the screen. You don't see it there but you reach in and press. Almost as if it was made for it.

No wiring? I was gonna do the KIA mirror upgrade but have been holding off because of the wiring. So... the Rav4 mirror is battery? How's that work? Please explain.

If you have 1 window in your house they can get in. My late wife used to stress out if the deadbolt wasn't locked on the full glass back door. I told her many times a rock opens ALL locked doors with glass.

Locks are Only there, to keep your friends out. as an x-door tech this was my line to security questions.

I guess us country folk are nicer people. I've had a GDO since 1978 and never has one been stolen. Good luck.

Easy to install ,takes 2 minutes with an Allen wrench.
