The truck is as sneaky as ever, I don’t think the new tires make any more noise than the contis. I hope the tpms that the shop took off my old tires will work for a while longer. They said they usually last about 7 years.

The shop gave me a socket. I promptly labeled it, put it in a zip bag with the receipt and stowed it in the Big Black Hole under the back seat. It sits next to the jump starter, fire extinguisher and micro-inflator.

I finally got the fancy wheels I have coveted since I got my Hybrid XL. Selling three of the old steelie wheels (and elderly tires) as well as the unused mini spare that came with it. Head on over to fb marketplace if you are interested.

Got about 45k miles out of the Continentals. I had the shop pull off the dinky spare and put the best of the old ones underneath. Pretty Liquid Metal Halo wheels in satin black. Nokian Encompass tyres.

Just what I was thinking!

I never haul stuff that can’t be removed. I also never want to lay on a slushy street to get my tire out from under there. I have considered just keeping the spare in the bed all the time.
