I did not get my 45 day update this time around. That's after a confirmation and 4 previous updates from Ford. Should I be worried? I'm starting to look at alternatives as my current ride is not going to last forever.

I also noticed my order had vanished from the account order status. I called Ford CS today and was told they removed all orders without VINs and my order would show up again when/if I got a VIN.
Not very reassuring is it? I got basically the same answer. they said it is still there but it's status is " balanced out" whatever that means. It hasn't been cancelled but still has no VIN. They said I might still get a VIN, but it doesn't look good .Welcome to FO MO CO. 551 days today!!!

A lot of people on here say all the eco boost orders will be built this year. I myself, have my doubts. We will see in a couple months. 551 today!!!

I think if your retail order doesn't get built because your dealer won't get any more allocations, the build slot won't go to waste - it will likely be used to fill a stock order for a dealer.

I think Ford has made a change in how they acknowledge orders and I wonder if it is some sort of effort to alert those who won't get a truck. The stoppage of the 45 day notices, which were so polite is one indication. Still the usual fog lacking in honest visibility.

Hate to break the news to you, but balanced out means they have already selected all they think they can build - leaving 0 balance left to schedule into the factory and build for this production run.

Which doesn't make sense since there are still multiple months to schedule. And dealers have been told their estimated allocation for May. They will start to be scheduled/using May allocations this coming week.

Quit your whining. I have been waiting 596 days and I don't have a vin number. at least you have only been out a year. Hopefully toyota will release the stout in 2024

I don't understand your long wait. I ordered mine the second day that the books opened up in September. I received it 2 weeks ago. It's at 2023 and I ordered it in 2022. I received the email updates from Ford all along the way.

I haven't followed scheduling updates closely since getting my Mav, but if IIRC they are typically scheduling out 2+ months in advance of current calendar date? Think I saw MY2024 order banks open in July? That's like 8 more possible scheduling weeks? I doubt they will be scheduling any more MY2023 after that. Ford will never declare publicly exactly how many more they can build, but they did cut off ordering quickly and "sold out" saying ~87k units total for the year?

I don't either. I get my 45 day emails. I don't think it's fair.

I dont trust the battery tech as yet for my region. In Indiana, summer is humid enough to drink with the heat and cold at times in winter to give frostbite in under 5 min. My area has so much variance strait gas is the only thing i trust enough. Plus, if battery pack needs replaced, its what, half the cost of the vehicle alone? No thanks!
Hybrid batteries typically outlast the gas engine. And individual cells can be replaced. The entire battery replacement not required. The eCVT transmission is proven reliable technology and has 1/3 the moving parts of a conventional automatic. Toyota Prius has been sold for over 25 years. The Maverick Hybrid system and eCVT are based on the Prius technology. This ain't something Ford invented a couple years ago.
Oil change intervals for the Hybrid are significantly longer, as are brake pad/rotor replacement. And no turbo.

A hybrid Tacoma has already been confirmed - official release for the 2024 Tacoma lineup is set for May 19th.
I'm waiting for the official announcement on the 19th. If things look good, I'll order one of these instead.
