We just did about a 300 mile drive down the Central Valley. Judging from the appearance of our windshield, we must have made a significant reduction in the Central Valley mosquito population. After a while I got a warning on the instrument screen that the front camera was obscured. I didn't...
It was not observer bias. For a long time I used regular (the medium grade). Then we needed gas while my wife was at Costco, so we bought gas there. They don't have the medium grade, only the low grade and premium. So I wasn't buying premium for a mileage test or improvement. But I always...
Don't know if someone has mentioned, but a while ago I made the discovery that premium gas made ~10% better milage. Recently I learned that Union 76 premium was even better. Our 23 hybrid usually averages mid 40's. Occasionally higher around town. 70mph on interstate drops it to high 30's...
WE love our maverick. I ordered 9/22 no options. With only a 50% chance of getting our order filled, I did not want to complicate things. The one option that would have been very handy for me was the cameras that showed what was near the 4 corners. I do not have real depth perception so...
I ordered our 23 in 9/22. Delivered 8/23. Aware of the inability of Ford to fill all hybrid orders, we did not take any options which might put us back in line if there was some part shortage.
It turns out though, that while I love our Maverick, I have a biological depth perception...
Thanks for everyone for the interesting facts and insights. Fwiw, we've seen 2 or 3 mavericks in the last 3 weeks. My wife won't let me stop them for a beer.
Seen yesterday in Mazamitla Mexico. This truck in my estimate the exact same size as a Maverick. Same height. Same hood length and height. Same cabin size. Same bed side. It is a turbo. It is called "Montana." It's a Chevy.
IMHO, this does seem like a Ford hedge on a recession and a drop in demand for cars. In a recession, if people are not buying, Ford and dealers do not want a large inventory. So it is that. But it is also an effort for positive public relations. Smart move.
I have an observation and a question. There is the green light, top center of control panel that comes on when truck is braked to a stop. I've had our truck for 18 months and this is the first time it has come on. What changed? I did a 9k service and a couple recall fixes (wipers, rear...
Thanks for the info. What we found was that most gas stations have 3 grades. Middle grade is minimum for Maverick. But costco only has two. Low grade and premium. The cost of the premium is about the same as the middle grade at regular stations. So more miles per tank for same cost.
So are the body panels on the maverick aluminum? I have a very small nick near the tail light. If aluminum I won't worry. If steel I need to protect from rust.
We were away for 5 weeks in October. While gone I was receiving low voltage warnings on my phone. When I got back it reported only 20% charge. I called dealer for advice. He said, "take it out for an hour on the highway." I did that. Problem went away and no reoccurrence.
Following this thread for a few days, I'm left with a question: Are the cv axles on hybrids failing at a low milage on all hybrids or just a portion of them? Is there illuminating data?
We returned from a month in Mexico. While there I got a couple alerts that the truck back home had a low battery problem and remote connects were stopped. I just went out to the truck and the door unlocked fine with the fob. Started and ran fine. No panel notifications of an electrical...
Premium gas. About 10%. Discovered by accident. Went to costco and decided to buy gas while there. they only have the low grade and premium. And the premium was less expensive that our usual middle grade elsewhere. So we're getting 10% better mpg for less cost. Also depends on who is...
