I'm looking at the Maverick as a vehicle to tow behind our motor home. Has anyone seen any information on flat-towing the Maverick? If so, are there any special equipment options that are required? (Engine, transmission,...)
I have hybrid ordered because it is the only flat tow able model

"flat towing an EV and charging the battery while you go"

Fiat500e can be flat towed to charge battery. This is anecdotal, and against Fiat official recommendations, but a Fiat Forum member does it regularly

I currently flat-tow my 2011 Ranger XLT behind my RV. It's a 4x4 with the dealer-installed neutral tow switch/light. Glad to hear Maverick will flat-tow too. Wife drives a 2020 Escape Titanium hybrid and loves it. Looking forward to driving and towing a hybrid Lariat Ranger in Velocity Blue!
When I go to the build site at Ford Canada the Lariat only comes with the 2.0l AWD while the FWD hybrid tops out at XLT with the luxury package. No leather and limited wheel choices. To bad I would prefer the Lariat, but want the flat tow.

They did say it would start selling out in early November. Although, maybe it's specific to Canada, though? 🤷‍♂️

I ordered mine last week. Do you know if it has factory installed baseplate or will one need to be purchased from BlueOx Towing, etc?
I had Jeep Wrangler that had factory installed baseplates but, that might just be a Jeep thing as Jeep Wranglers and other Jeep models have been the most common flat tow vehicle for years.

I'm going to tow the Maverick behind our MH.

I was planning on flat towing but I think I will use a dolly instead.

Flat towing runs miles on the odometer, the dolly does not.

Flat towing requires a baseplate and braking system.

Dolly towing uses the dolly brakes.

Backing the dolly is a big PITA, but I can deal with it.

Unhooking a dolly in the rain sucks. Dropping my dolly by buying a hydrid. Did I mention I hate using my dolly?

2 of us have been scheduled with Roadmaster in January for the Base Plate creation, nstallation and Invisibrake install. Mine is the first 1/3. A few months later they should have it in market.

Mine is the other hybrid scheduled with Roadmaster for use as a prototype. Yes I am driving from So Cal to have my hybrid used. For the rest of you, contact Blue Ox to see if they have their volunteer yet.
Congrats to the two of us David!
