Like many of you, I was getting regular battery saver and deep sleep warnings on my 2024 Lariat hybrid, despite driving about 1,000 miles a month. My dealer said the factory battery had a bad cell, and three months ago replaced it with a new AGM Ford battery at no charge.

We left it at a Maine airport, open air parking garage for nine nights recently. Temperatures weren’t terrible while we were away: 25-40 highs; lows upper teens to 20s. I was pretty sure I’d get a battery save message.

I did not. When I got to the truck, it was dark but I don’t believe the dome lights came on. Exterior lights did when I unlocked. The truck started immediately.

This was a time when I couldn’t use my battery tender. I could have done a remote start and idle, but I wanted to see what would happen. I have a warmer, attached garage at home. I realize the AGM might not perform like this forever, but I wanted to report on this test.

Good day, @TheRealEman

Query, I hope when the battery was changed the proper process was followed to recharge the new battery fully and the manuals procedure for when a battery is changed. Up to you if you don't know for sure. It is a good idea.

The exterior lights flashing but not staying on and interior lights not comong on at all happens after about 4 days of non-use, I just did a test of this on another thread to verify.

When you come back after 4 days and interior lights are needed, just reach up and press the interior light 3-way rocker switch on the overhead panel and the lights will turn on for you (as long as you don't have any other battery issues of course).

It is just the way Ford has set our trucks up, it seems to try and make sure our Mavericks save their battery from excessive drain.

Hope this helps, and have a good one,

Andy

If the interior lights did not come on then yes you were in battery saver mode.

After my '25 Lariat 12v battery went dead twice this winter in low 30's F, I programmed the truck to remote start at 1:00am and 5:45am which has kept the battery charged sufficiently. I'm off work at 6:00am so it is nice to leave in a warm truck while coworkers are warming up their cars.

My Ecoboost warms up twice as fast in 25 degree or lower temps than in 35 degree weather.
As far as I can tell it appears from looking at them,
My radiator louvers close up all the way when it’s below 25-28 F but not when it’s 35F.
Or my thermostat is now broken in ?
Izzat even possible?
I need a 35 degree morning again to check that possibility out.

Just plug the block heater into a timer and save a lot of fuel and wear on the cold engine.

I removed the block heater option so that I could get my truck built last year. There's no AC receptacles on my employers parking lot. Fifteen minutes running twice per night is negligible fuel use anyway.
