  1. Engine runaway at startup

That third dealer is about 50 miles away, and I took delivery with like 1.6 miles on the truck. I still don't have my car hauler unloaded, and I still haven't driven the Maverick on the road. I've been busy building my home and working full time.
  2. wMetal Skid Plate

I have both of these Rival products and discovered that the tailpipe hits the right rear inboard CV axle boot if the muffler gets dragged over some fill dirt in my yard. To the tune of $853 at the FORD dealer to be exact. That is considered billable collision damage and not warranty work. This...
  3. Engine runaway at startup

I've had all updates and recalls performed and after two weeks the dealer told me to pick up my truck. He said that the tech that's qualified to work on it "forgot" to perform several checks and repairs then went on vacation. He then gave notice and left. They kept my ticket open until they have...
  4. Would you buy hybrid again yes or no

I wouldn't buy another hybrid instead I would get an electric ev.
  5. Diode Dynamics 2025+ Fog Lights are now available!

Thanks, I just ordered a set!
  6. Recalibrate speedometer for larger tires?

Interesting. My Lariat OEM tire size is 225/55R19 Wrangler at 2294mm circumference. Yes, my speedo is off by -5mph with 255/50R20 at 2395mm circumference. So what you are implying is that smaller tires can be compensated for, but larger ones cannot be.
  7. Larger tires for 2024 Lariat

Maverick 30.5" tire diameter is the maximum that can fit without rubbing utilizing "factory" wheels offset. I have a set of 255/50R20 on Mach-E wheels that fit fine. In poor traction conditions I use 245/65R17 AT tires on OEM steelies.
  8. Any rubbing issues with larger tires on the Lariat?

The maximum diameter that will fit without rubbing is 30.5" with the correct factory wheel offset. The 245/75R17 won't clear while turning at 31.5" diameter.
  9. Winter Wheels And Tires - What's Your Setup?

The A-Plus Shredder tires continue to do very well off the road and on the road. No rubbing of tires though the sticky mud after rains still slings into my Maverick into hidden places. I can attest that 30" diameter tires with the correct offset wheel do indeed fit a Maverick Lariat and don't...
  10. Any rubbing issues with larger tires on the Lariat?

No rubbing issues to report with 245/65R17 or 255/50R20. Yesterday, I sold the 2003 Silverado with the 235/75R17 tires that I mistakenly bought for my Maverick in the bed for an extra $500. Today we meet after 9 to transfer the title. There's plenty of other issues with the Maverick mostly...
  11. Vibrating when turning, unsure as to cause

I have experienced a sticky caliper and this isn't it. It's a sudden reduced brake power level, like about 25% and it's a thud from the rear. It still groans while turning after ripping me a new butt for an $853 axle shaft for a torn boot leaking. Sticking caliper does one of two things...
  12. Engine runaway at startup

Photo of RPM with accelerator to the floor in park.
  13. Engine runaway at startup

That's correct HeyBales, no change. Just like the Fusion that I had, with lots less bugs and glitches. Same 12v battery issue, just not as bad as the Maverick. Nothing is on the floor mat but my foot. I tried stomping the accelerator and the shifter was locked. I just unlocked the truck...
  14. Engine runaway at startup

At startup. Dealer didn't reverb return my voice mail this week. So I'll drop by Monday. The third time it does this, I'm gathering my valuables and walking away. Then I'll let fate take over. There's only 400 miles of factory warranty left so I'll park it tomorrow until the dealer acknowledges...
  15. Engine runaway at startup

For the second time at start my Maverick engine went to beyond full throttle to redline and bouncing off the rev limiter. This time it lit the check engine light. The next time it happens, I'm walking away and letting it self destruct on YouTube. There are too many unsafe bugs on this truck and...
  16. Bret Got Rear Ended

Update: The Ford tech didn't investigate any other issues but the axle boot/muffler and then left for a week. Ford let me have my truck and is keeping the ticket open. They are to reschedule after next week.
  17. Bret Got Rear Ended

I found out Monday that something had hit the rear of my Maverick. The muffler specifically was pushed against the CV axle and tore the boot. Parts are on order and repairs will total $853. The bumper and sheet metal all seem ok. I hope to have it back by Friday. It's been at the dealer nearly...
  18. What does this message me, trigggered going through car wash.

I've not been cataloging updates, but I frequent that car wash weekly and I just saw the message for the first time about two weeks ago. I missed a few car wash dates, lol. I had updates and repairs performed just about two to three weeks ago. It's in the shop for a second time in a month. Add...
  19. What does this message me, trigggered going through car wash.

I got the same thing going through my car wash since the last update. It won't go dead in the two minutes wash cycle so I took note and dismissed it. There was no harm to the truck though it might be hydrophobic, lol. I guess I could have said that it was activating it's self destruct sequence...
